3rd Test
Question for you guys.
Say you want to keep tail end batsman in at a particular end (i.e. facing bowler/s as happened today). But at the end of an over the established batsman hits ball near to boundary and is about to run 3 runs thus keeping the strike for new over. Is it acceptable for fielder to gently kick ball over boundary with result that tail ender will now be facing new over? Is this against the rules or just considered unprofessional?

But don't ask which one(s) cos I don't know
.Don't know what the penalty is either
Thanks. Thought it probably was but makes it interesting if fielder is chasing to save boundary - may be he just doesn't run as fast as he could or "mis-fields". Having said that thank goodness cricket is a basically honest game where players know what's acceptable and what's not. "Playing with a straight bat", as they say.

Somehow don't think the "diving cheating poofs" would own up to such things on the footie pitch.
