Anyone fancy a northern camping trip......?
#31
I'll be taking a trip up to the lakes over the next couple of weeks to have a mooch around, roads, sites etc...if anyones interested.
I'll come with ya if you don't mind a pax, my car won't be ready.......if it is all the better
I may be able to go on the actual trip depending on the dates as I work weekends
Michelle.

Mellow
Sent you a mail mate saying not sure about recce, but I may well be up for a midweek recce - I thought you meant weekend
If you are at DR2 we can discuss when to go on the scouting mission then.
As for the actual date July sounds good to me - with regards Grand Prix, we could always watch it on portable round the camp fire or go to the Sports Bar in Bowness??

Simon, anytime m8, midweek's fine, we'll try and pick the best day (weather wise) and just go if your flexible, we'll chat on Sunday at the meet.
14th July boys and girls, start practicing your knots, air the canvass and get your drinking/partying heads ready !

...now man-made satellites - they go in *straight* lines don't they. OK, and Scousers always win at pool? Er, and tents can be erected at the flick of a wrist.
Sounds to me like a "fantasmagorical camping trip"!

Mellow,
as a fellow Lancastrian, i wouldn't dream of calling you a Scouser. I was referring to the young lady who looked like Tasha Slappa out of Viz - you know, the one that Pete fancied

Hello,
I'm not going the GP this year, so i'll be up for a(nother) camping trip
Ive had the Leda re-built now, and i thought it was good before Now it falls into the category of 'sublime'
Don't forget them aftershocks Mel, one pink & one blue one mixed (makes purple )
I'll try and conjure up a co-driver again, shouldn't be hard
Phil.

Pete,
Had a great day out at the Dales run yesterday m8, I missed you as my co-driver, although I had replaced you for the day with a 22 yr old blonde female, twice as mad as moi, namely Michelle wrx !
Anyway, your seat awaits, we'll find our own dirty women eh ?
I'm down in your neck of the woods Wednesday seeing Greenbergs Glass at Brum centre.
boomer, Viz girl of Pete's roughest old boot I've seen in ages, looked good hanging around his neck though then latterly his tent
Spk soon
Chris

Graham,
I am going up to do the first recce this weekend and the following too.
It looks like the 14th July is the date (unless I hear differently)I will source a good campsite this weekend and will be booking a provisional 20 places, it will have amenities such as showers, bar (of course)amd generally suitable for all concerned without going O.T.T.
My thoughts are that the meet will be somewhere around the Preston/Blackpool area at around 10.00am on the Saturday with the route taking up towards Lancaster and some very scenic S.Lakes roads of all denominations which will eventually lead us to arrive nicely at the site for around 4.00pm.
The following day will be a start of around 10.30am and will take in Hard Knott pass and various other scenic routes and a pub/lunch and the British G.P and finally which will lead us back to either the Devils Bridge area to either cut through Skipton etc for the Yorkshire/Lancs people or for any Southern based peeps they can pop back onto the M6 and straight down !
I'll post again after the weekend.

Mellow, can you check for a local B&B. Camping won't work unless I'm let out alone & then who will pay for the SUL
Note you've scheduled the recce days when you know I'm unavailable. Needing an advantage?

Mellow,
I'll borrow your spare tent if that's ok?
Otherwise, as I said in my first post, I'll have to buy one. The last tent I owned had Spiderman on it.
I think I'll be on my tod, so if anyone needs to share, they can as long as they don't snore
Cheers
Rich

Don't any of you drink ??? The reason I ask this is that you are talking about a 10:30am start the next day?
I thought this was a Northern meet not a Southern meet!
Damian.

Beer and cars? Sounds like a plan to me.
I'll be damned if I'm not Scoobied up by then, although with my driving I'll be at back with Banshi in his P1 look-a-like Sport (my Dad always told me to get my excuses in first!)
I've got a tent and can probably borrow my sisters huuuuge dome tent if we need a spare. Got a few sleeping bags as well if people need to borrow (a game of spot the former Scout anyone?)
Anyone got a five door Wagon to fit all the booze in?
I've previously used the campsite next to Coniston Water, although it was a few years ago now. Very close to Coniston which is (or was) full of pubs. I do remember you had to take your own toilet paper though - hence a queue of blokes outside the gents with copies of the Sun!

As long as I have a place where I can get my head d..(quick re-think on that sentence) Where I can sleep comfortably I will be fine
