Hope to be able to get there in my 'sometimes white' MY98
By the way - from memory there are some pretty sneakily hidden gatsos on the A483 - so watch out on the way there!
Cheers

Young Ged, MozG,
I may not be able to make the run.
Car is fine, but I am still recovering from an operation, and don't know if I will be up to the drive there, the run, then drive back.
If I feel up to it I wll attend, if not, I hope everyone has a good day out.
Cheers MTR

Hooz coming along from the West Midlands then? Sadly Kev is flat on his hack, and CharlieWhiskey is still hung-over from last week.
Anyone fancy a convoy along the A5???

boomer: It is I, but using my new alter ego (sans e) I'll have you know I am not still hung over from last week, I've actually sobered up several times since then
Don't know yet wether I can make it, still hope to but may have too much on tommorow.
I'll stick my mobile No. on your my.scoobynet, if it works, maybe meet up at Cannock again?

CharlieWhiskey,
All the way from derby! no wonder you(we) had to stop to fill up
The exhaust is the infamous BPM twin dump system(earlier non-coated version): Sounds great, but has more rust than a lancia integrale
Phil
(not looking forward to MOT time)

Great day, Great route..Thanks lads
Spent most of my day wondering if I was heading the right way (my 8yr old nephews navigating left a little to be desired), trying to keep up with the Turbos in front or looking behind to see a great line of cars behind me. Hope I did'nt hold anyone up.
Highlights of the day for me were 4 Turbos blasting past Graham & I in the layby just outside Ruthin & the astonished looks from the locals as we Scoobysported their quiet Welsh villages. All in all a top day out.

Excellent route, company and pub to finish in. Several of us could have stayed there all afternoon.
Shame it pissed down all morning.
Many thanks to all those involved in the planning/organisation.
We even had an Audi TT come to play for a little while then he just went backwards at a rapid rate of knotts.
Already looking forward to the next one.
Jon ( silver UK in boomers group )

Wales was wet.
Oh yes every postcard says that doesn't it?
Excellent drive without too manyy shocks. My back tyres are definately going off, where was the pit lane? Thanks to Moz and co. for putting in the effort for us.
My driver rushed us away at the end to go SHOPPING at John Lewis, Cheadle. Bah!
Anyway got a close look in the flesh at the MY01, even got to sit in it and clunk the door, very refined. It looks better in real life, and seems exactly what they said it would be, a "poshed up" more polished version of the current motor. It was "on loan" from the dealer's who's brochures were handed out in the pub.
A young lad from just down the road arrived at the end in his Sport, which he'd only had a couple of days, as his mate the chef at the pub had told him about all the cars in the car park. Anyone else talk to him?
Hope he finds this BBS and gets along on the next one.
Nice to meet even more new folks, and see the usual suspects again. See you all, for Round 2 next spring eh?
Oh, and Simon, my tip if you have a dodgy navigator is to let them drive!!! (That's how she does it!)

Glad you all seemed to enjoy it, big thanks to all who turned up(29 I think), as MTR says "you make the day"
Extra thanks to all those who who travelled from far away to get there.
Thanks to boomer for his usual good work on the photos(must get myself one of those digi cams!!)

Graham
PS Does anybody know who's the MY01 was???

Hi all
Thanks for all the nice comments about the route
Sorry we couldn't wisk up some better weather for you all,but I think we got off lightly for the time year.
Thanks to MTR for the advice when we started planning the day and were sorry you couldn't make it,get well soon mate.(P.S. you were right it is a lot of hard work, but well worth it.)
Simon I was sat behind Graham in the layby and the 4 cars that blasted past sounded awsome.
Grahame F 0/10 for time keeping .You nearly missed us,we were just about to leave when you turned up.Hope the cars fixed soon as it's a bit of a monster!
As for the MY01 it does look better in the metal, but not that much better.
See you all in the spring.
Chris

Graham, Chris and Andy,
Sorry I couldn't make the run.
It looks as though you all got the route, and instructions sorted out OK.
If nobody gets lost, and they enjoy the run, then pat yourselves on the back, it was a success.
You now realise what a lot of thought you need to put into planning a route that is both enjoyable, and easy to follow, but similar to the Pennines, you have a good selection of roads to choose from.
I'm glad some of the 'tips' I gave you helped get you started.
As I have said before, with the right kind of encouragement, and an application of some common sense, there should be plenty of 'route planners' and organisers on this BBS, who can organise events such as yours.
Well Done.
Cheers MTR

Excellent Martin, as usual, I like the 'Arty' shots but thought you could have got some irony in there with the 'ARAF/SLOW' on the road

There was an "interesting" sight on the way back to the West Midlands (sorry, i have no idea where it was, 'cos CharlieWhiskey was leading the pack and i think that we went via Newcastle )
In a layby, parked behind a lovely silver Mercedes SL-"go-fast" was a dark green BMW (probably 5-series) saloon. The BMW's brake lights were flashing alternately left and right - oh, and it had a blue flashing light in it's radiator grill (obviously non-standard)!
Y'all drive safely in North Wales!
