We've all got opinions on Islamic Fundamentalists - You don't have to be one to hold an opinion .

Suresh has as much right to his opinion as the next person.

Sometimes an external viewpoint can be more accurate.

Sometimes. Though not in this case. Anybody that can conclude that the country is being run well at the moment is clearly out of touch. All IMHO of course.

I would not want to see the Guantanamo Bay attitude here and that is a danger we should guard against. Regardless of suspicion, if you cannot prove a man is guilty then it is not right to imprison him without redress. If that is what Mrs Blair means then she is not far off the mark. To lose Habeas Corpus is too dangerous for the future of this country with the possibility of a government that might take advantage of it in times to come. If the imprisonment up to a maximum of three months has to be extended from time to time by an independent magistrate in the case of a suspected terrorist then that is not quite so bad of course.

Reality,

Not quite sure about your first post being consistent with what you are saying in later ones. If you advocate the deathy penalty for convicted terrorists, I can understand that, but are you saying that all the suspected ones should be shot out of hand?

You then start trying to blame the police for shooting the Brazilian man after his suspicious behaviour. Your excuses for him are plainly ridiculous.

Lets say you are confronted by a man in similar circumstances. Are you going to walk up to him and tell him that you suspect him of being a suicide bomber and please could he unbutton his coat for you? Bear in mind you also have a responsibilty for the safety of the surrounding public.

There is no doubt that the SFO's acted entirely correctly in this instance and I doubt that you can produce a better and more effective plan of action.

My first post was sarcastic - Apologies for any confusion.

To Clarify - We need to be sure we are dealing with terrorists before we start shooting them (I have no problem killing terrorists before, during or after their cowardly acts).

The excuses are not ridiculous at all - Are you saying anyone in London running for a train wearing warm clothing should be shot ??? I don't ******* think so !

Did you hear how the guys that shot the Brazillian challenged him - No - Neither did I.

We know the guy wasn't a suicide bomber - We know he was shot running for a train - everything else is subject to an enquiry - we'll see what comes of it.
