This is the 480bhp / 400 lbs/ft torque one we're talking about here? Standing quarter mile is just over 12 seconds (quicker than a 911 Turbo and less than a second behind a Carrera GT) - good for almost 200mph, if you took the limiter off? I think you've got to say that most RS6 drivers would rarely feel the need to justify themselves against a Scoob (or any other car for that matter) I've been in a Scoob that took on RS6 - lets just say it was a one horse race - not even close.

Holy Mother of God! Why would any sane person, who has an aversion to quick driving and performance motoring, own a Scoob and frequent Scoobynet? Seriously, why? It reminds me of the people who write into Points of View whinging about the graphic sex scenes and gratuitous violence in the film that they have just watched for an hour and a bloody half!
I like driving quickly in a car that is designed for this purpose. When the conditions allow I WILL drive enthusiastically. To the nannies, I'm off for a blat in my motor................

Just because you own a scoob it doesnt mean you have to race every car on the road worth a look. Sometimes its hard not to stop yourself I will admit that BUT think of the consequences ...... Im pretty sure there is a SN member a year through a 5 year stretch at this very moment for ''quick driving''
Oh and for the record I dont hang about in the car but if another scoob were to sit behind for a blat I would back off very quickly. Once the red mist decends things get tricky.

At the end of the day, we all get a kick out of a car's performance. I certainly didn't buy my Scooby to pootle along at 15mph I've noting against anyone who enjoys their car's performance in safe conditions when it's quiet, as long as their not putting anyone else at risk.
BUT
It's just not worth being competitive on the road, it's too easy for either party to get caught up in the moment and do something silly. It is hard to resist at times, but even if you are a highly skilled driver in the far superior car, there's no saying that the driver behind you won't do something daft to try and keep up and have or cause an accident in the process!

There are times when the speed limit is, say, thirty, but due to prevailing conditions (potential hidden hazards, poor visibility, limited space to avoid accidents etc.) I WILL actually pootle along at 15mph. Equally, you will not find me "racing" in urban areas for two reasons. The moral issue (increased risk to innocents) and also because suburbia simply isn't conducive to "racing", ultimately the practice is unsatisfying.
Having qualified my stance however, I make no apologies for enjoying the pleasure to be had from stretching the legs of my well maintained, AWD, ABS and four potted, 280 BHP, fully serviced motor vehicle. If my persuit of this desire happens to coincide with somebody else of a similar mind set, say an RS6 driver, then I am perfectly happy to enjoy the thrill of driving with a fellow petrol head. In fact I bloomin' love it.
For me, exploiting this opportunity happens only rarely. Do the conditions allow? Do I have confidence in the ability of the other driver? Am I enjoying the thrill of performance motoring or do I have an alpha-male issue motivating me? (red-mist is a killer for sure). It is the right answer to these questions that dictates wether or not I choose to push on; not legislation, not image, not what the adverts tell me and certainly not the blinkered, nannying and quite frankly irritating comments of some of our members.....oh, and for the record, a lightly tuned, well driven RS6 would eat my Scoob for breakfast.

eeeemm are your serious - I had a do with an rs6 on a streight... I was left for dead, I even had to pull over to let him fly passed and mines running 320bhp
I assummed it must have been over 500bhp, and no I didn't catch him up in the twists

standard RS6 = 450bhp
run off model called RS6+ = 480bhp
most road cars are pretty similar performance wise just look at the amount of cars in the 13.5 - 15 sec quater mile bracket, they may suprise you, ie M3 e46 13.2secs approx & Subaru MY00 ppp 13.6secs approx.
When you look on paper the difference looks much greater in favour of the M3, granted the M3 is pulling away after the Quarter but who drives above 120mph on public roads!
If you do a search there are many sites with comparable qtr mile times. There are quite a few suprises with what you expect to be fast and what is.
Watching at santa pod puts alot into perspective when Lambo's with over 500hp struggle to get under 13secs then a tuned R5 turbo goes down in 12, power to weight plays a major role in off the line acceleration upto about 80mph then the bigger power cars come into their own.

Mind you I have seen a couple of them understeering their way around a race circuit.
I'd still have one

The RS6 and impreza are very different cars, and despite the fantastic engine, enormous power and other attributes of the RS6, there's a good chance that the stereotypical impreza driver wouldn't actually like driving one. The RS6 isn't a car that you'd get up extra early on a Sunday to go for a thrash around the "twisties". But it is the perfect companion when you need to drive 500 miles quickly and in luxury on fast roads, whatever the conditions, with your family in the back and a boot full of luggage.
I'm sure there are some lightweight modded subarus out there that with a good start would beat an RS6 to 100mph. But my standard RS6 does feel substantially faster than both my old impreza and my old evo 6, and after owning the audi there's no way I'd go back to either marque.

most these guys with cars worth sub 20k must be dreaming a 400 bhp scoob would keep up but I bet most the guys who have payed good money getting their cars over 400 bhp wish they had just bought a car that was designed to go that quick
serious which scooby owner would not swap their rice box for a quality car like an audi rs6, 911 etc ....

do I need to do a poll to ask who would swap their beloved impreza for a same age 911
sorryI hear what your are saying but this is a scooby web site full of scooby nutters
ask any every day car lover which they would prefer
what makes me smile is how you have to keep opening and shutting the windows at high speed to keep the rattles down or make sure you have a full bottle of booster just incase you can't find a shell garage
each to their own but if you want to swap that 911
