I wonder if talking to the local police station may help, explain the situation, and see if they can send a community police officer round to all the suspects houses. It may not do anything about your current problem, but it should hopefully instill a little fear/respect into them, and hopefully they wont do it again.

IMHO it will probably make them worse. It will probably make them want to cause more damage. Whereas if Ray puts the **** up them himself they will fear Ray and not bother him again. Whereas they know the police can't and probably won't be able to do anything. Just my opinion.

Unhappy

I had this done at a set of traffic lights, the kids pressed the lights to stop the traffic and then stoned the car, my rear side window got hit, i had both my kids in the car. The gang of kids was about 20. I reported it to the police, who said they were aware of the problem? But not alot they could do.
If the window had gone through on my kids would they have done anything?
Obviously a common thing.
If you take matters into your own hands then the police are straight their, looking to prosecute you.
You cant win.

I realise this post is probably tongue in cheek, but as a cautionary tale my brothers neighbour did exactly this with a teenage burglar he caught. The judge fully accepted that he had no intention of harming the lad, and that he was merely attempting to teach him a lesson obviously not taught him by his parents, but had to sentance him to a custodial term. He got off with the minimum 9 months (out in 3) but could have been given upto 9 years by a less understanding judge

If you're gonna do it, make sure they know why, but not who, and have a strong alibi

the "group/gang" of kids round our way must do sumthing simmiler

theres 2 main groups, one of the groups has a largeish kid as a main member, i know his dad quite well as he is a car nut, i have took him and his kid to a show or 2 before so there is no problem with that group

the other group were fireing them sweet braclet things at it, there is an outcast to the group who they dont really bother with, this lad told me one day while i was cleaning the car, told me who did it and did i want him to "chin" the other kids

gutted for you mate, i know what its like, but to be honest, when i was a kid we all used to take great pleasure in smashing the football off "franks tank" which was a batterd old volvo, so when it happens to me its a bit "****"
if you know what i mean

F**k yeah!! If only all parents were like this!! and if only social services were a bit more proactive with the families of kids who frequently get into trouble!!

Anyway a little while a go my eldest boy who goes to school with these boys(they are his buddies and they are actually pretty good kids) was walking home with mum behind and all of a sudden he picks up a stone and throws it across the road. However little did he know a car was coming, and what happens the stone hits the windscreen. But whats worse was it was his teachers car
Anyway I get home she tells me and I just can't believe he did it. So first thing in the morning I trapes him down to school and find his teacher. I say to her "Tyler (my son) has got something to tell you". He owns up and bursts into tears. So at this point I know he has well and truly learnt a lesson. His teacher turn't round and said that it was very honest of him to own up because she thought it was his mates who did it.
So I pay for her windscreen to be replaced there is a big assembly about the danegrs etc etc. My boy has learnt his lesson and I don't think he has ever picked up a stone since and just to make it a bit harder for him I made him work at a mates shop for 10 weeks to pay back the money for the windscreen. Should have been about 2 years but i'm not that cruel.

Since then the other boys have thrown stones but not now as me and my nextdoor neighbour caught them throwing them into peoples gardens so we ran out and caught 4 of the boys took them into my garden lined them up and got a tub full of stones and pretended that we were gonna let rip on them, and I tell you what, their faces were a picture. Even writing this now is making me smile.

God i wish all parent were like this nowadays, well done that man

That's the biggest worry. Some kid done £1500 worth of damage to my car with a screwdriver last year. I knew who'd done it but the Police were powerless

Anyway, I had it repaired and now it never comes home. I walk half a mile every morning to my car to drive to work (20 miles away - before you wonder why I don't walk the whole way) just to avoid leaving it at home. Because I involved the police I'm worried about a reprisal now it's all shiny and painted again.

Thats what would worry me, the scumkid mentality.

"wow you remember that car we damaged! the geezer has just had it fixed.. Lets do it again and see how mad he goes, cos he cant touch us.."

I remember seeing two little gits egg my neibours car once, the poor guy spent an hour cleaning it, just to have the same gets drive past on their bike and egg it again.

you see what i mean

Oh mate, i'd be reeeealy pi$$ed!
Just a thought, you say you have seen these kids around, well soon they won't be kids they'll be entering the world of getting their first cars/mopeds.
First one you see, stone the fu**ers scooter/micra.
Saying gayley (happily), "Remember me **** head?"
Or do what i did when some gronk threw a bottle at me Scirocco (a few years ago just after closing time) on a pelican crossing shouting out "What the f%*k you gonna do 'bout it?" Very brave as he had several mates with him.
So i floored it and took him out, surprisingly 'tank like' a VW Scirrocco compared to a larey drunk person at the weekend. By the way the bottle missed and i didn't, it was the principal of the matter! Looked like he got up and his mates all shat themselves and just stood staring!
Lesson learnt i reckon, lived with me conscience and slept well that night i can tell you!
