There you are - an example of supreme diplomacy and tact...

It's not all "wham, bang, thank you ma'am" around here, anything for a quick buck...

and continuing the Blackadder (mis)quotes "Ooerr, buck, sounds a bit like ...." [cue theme tune]

Steph.. How does Milford Hall sound for you lot over in Leeds? Seems easy to go through Killingbeck/Cross Gates way and down through Garforth? All the way on the A63... 22 Miles

Trading Post appears to be 18 miles...

*****

I've just got back from a quick trip out to the Millhouse and surrounding area.. Mixed feelings from me. From Steph's description, it'll be a smart place with the hospitality, discount, OK car park (was VERY rutted) and themed nights etc.... However the drive is poor.. From the M62 it's 30 all the way, Pinderfields and Wakefield are to the South with Altofts to the East leading to the Cas. All the roads are frustratingly busy and slow.

Of course the roads are not the primary factor, but they'll make the drive to any place FEEL good.. At the mo this has dropped in my list, with The Darrington and Milford Hall to test from the other suggestions....

Sorry Steph..
No problem, it was just a suggestion. Milford Hall sounds good, deffo worth a look. The drive there however is crap, for us Leeds folk anyway. But if there's some good roads round it, it may make up for it

Time for my 2 peneth,
The Millhouse is in a nice location but too similar to TP & no kids area & poor roads.
The Darington is a big place & big car park, some good roads around there to the east of the A1. Well worth a visit.
Millford hall sounds awinner, ticks all the boxes, just have to watch out for bikers on the fast roads round there, as its just around corner from the Milk Bar cafe.
Will have to check em out next week.

I think Dave has decided for us anyway

Uncanny. I was only at this place today, out on a recce to find a new home for the West Yorks Impreza Owners Club. I think we're pretty certain to be using the Milford Hall just down the A162, but I'll try to drag a few Scooby's out to this. Gotta get out 'n about on these balmy summer evenings.

Will post an invite to the Milford when we've sorted it too

Right, we all had a look at Milford Hall and although it ticks just about every box there are some reservations about our ability to inject an atmosphere into the place. It has been decided that we will revisit along with The Darrington to give it a fair crack, as last night ended up a bit rushed. You can't really get a feel for a place by rushing in, razzing through every room you can find, laughing at the locals and then disappearing in a cloud of burnt Optimax.
Apologies for Dazza and myself arriving late, followed by Sticky and Ella's fuel stop and then following a route that, although very enjoyable, wasn't the best decision given the available time before the food orders ceased at TP.
Chris and I browsed another 4 pubs this afternoon, all within a few miles of Fenay Bridge, and we will be proposing that these are viewed too. I'll let Chris fill you in with the details as I am at w*rk.

So, who's up for a trip out next weds/thurs ?????

Can do.
Garage still a non starter over insurance (insewerats!) issues. Things generally calmed down though so it's cool(ish). Unlike the cockpit!
