For me it has to be a Chevy Corvette. 1960s-late 1970s.

I was just about to post that very thing Vindaloo. IIRC they were built in the UK. The Ford GT on the otherhand..

My favourite Yank Tank.. where do I start..

'58 Chevy Impala
'71 Buick Riviera (boat tail)

That's not actually a bad price if it is indeed a genuine R/T, and I notice the price includes shipping. Let's face it, which would you rather have 3 tons of yank muscle, or another anonymous eurobox?

AFAIK the Le Mans cars never had Weslake motors in them, they ran with either the small (289 & 302 cu.in) or large block (427cu.in) pushrod V8's depending on what the regs of the year allowed

MkI, MkII, & MkIII GT40s were built in the UK, only the MkIVs were built in the US by a coachbuilders called KarKraft.

Some of the cars raced in the US may indeed have had Weslake lumps in them as to may some of the lesser european cars. But definitely none of the Works/JWA cars campaigned in the prestige European races, i.e: Le Mans, Spa, Nurburgring, etc, ever ran with them.

Don't have a pic of one but the Dodge Charger '71 Super Bee 426 Hemi, that's the ultimate Charger, only 22 were made with this engine, very nice.

Like the Corvette Stingray too, nice curves!!

Cool My favourites:

My favourite modern US car has to be the Corvette. I've been driven in this one and it would make short work of almost any Scooby or Evo on the straights and the twisties. Fecking awesome. It looks a lot better in the flesh as well.

The guy in the drivers seat normally drives a diesel hatchback and is rather impressed...

She doesn't look convinced.

As for classic US cars, I'm torn between the brutishness of this 1970 Firebird and the beauty of this 1979 Corvette.

Excuse the crappy pic, it was in winter storage and couldn't be moved out of the garage.

Excuse the crappy pic, I'm a crap photographer...

This is a company that is making replicas

Unique Performance

Ok, so the film had a major part of this cars future, making the car rebourn.

I agree with you Jap if i had a Gt500 Kr i couldn't ruin the original beauty of the car with NOS, silly wheels and a terrible paint job ( obviously i love the car it is based on though ).

That 'Elanor' GT500 people keep posting is absolutely hideious, GT500's DO NOT look like that halfords body kit piece of crap.

THIS is what it should look like

and the GT350's look better anyway, especially the 67
