Take no notice of the "spoilers" - with a community this big, you're bound to get some idiots there are plenty of Sports on here - driven well, a Sport will certainly hold its own against a Turbo

what's next then? de-tango?

Dan
de-tango ? I have.. only need to do wedges now, both lights are changed

Looks good mate! Making me want mine back!

Isn't what people do to there cars their own choice. I had a Sport to start with and majorly modded as it became my hobby and I loved it. It looked and sounded ace, I never once said it was a turbo but it did look like one. Insurance was cheaper and when on runs with other scoobs ALWAYS kept up!!!

Now I have a JDM WRX and the insurance may not be much more but every other cost goes through the roof and so now can't drive as much as I'd like to due to the cost!!

I can't afford the Insurance on a Turbo.. plain and simple. I didn't like the car without the scoop as I feel it sets the car off.

The Phone is the 6630 and I was in the grave yard visiting my mum

Again, I didnt mean to sound like a baby, but I wanted to share like the rest of you, how much work I put into my car.

Yes I hate the fact that a 1.8 saxo could keep up with me, so I dont race one :P

I have changed the sport to look how I like it, I'm sorry if you don't but its my car

0-60 in 8 seconds now, so its not that slow
You're welcome

On the subject of "why put a turbo bonnet on a sport?" Maybe someone should ask Subaru of a America why the GC8 2.5 RS cars came with turbo bonnets when they only had a 2.5L N/A engine?

It does look rather nice, and it's certainly not been tarted up to the extreme, which on a sport is just a complete joke, due to the fact that for the cost of tarting up a sport, you could possibly have afforded a WRX and the insurance.

As said by others, a well driven sport can keep up with a Turbo, I have some vauge recollection that somone (possibly John Felstead) drove a sport round some SN handling course and somewhat embarassed most of the Turbo cars there.

As Pirrelli says "Power is nothing without control"

My car cost me £5500

after all my mods its and insurance its at just under £8000

The cheapest insurance for a Turbo 2000 is £5670 for me with Churchhill

you do the maths, and the mods are now done so they cost nothing, the insurance has to be paid again each year

Nail on the head there matey Similar stuff with me but mines not even a sport! I can't afford to insure a turbo at the minute either, but I love the car I have and love being part of the local scooby community. Doesn't matter what others may think chap.

Very nice car Mr pimmo

Sad to see yet another harmless thread where an enthusiastic Scooby owner is getting grief

Soulgirl is correct to speak up, well done.

Good on ya mate! If I were in your positition, Id do the same if I had a sport. Im old enough to remember the days when I had a MK1 Escort 1.1L with a twin webber carb and alloy filter, rostyle wheels, mexico stripe, and GT front wings, same thing, just a different generation. The car wouldnt pull the skin off a rice puddin, but it looked good
