the Midiclorians are there in Ep I only to serve as an explanation in Ep III on how Sidious's Master could manipulate them into creating life (or stopping someone from dying)

the force is a bit of a farce in some respects, as Obi ***** Nobi says to Luke, you must learn the ways of the force and come with me to Alderaan (not save the galaxy, but only to go as far as Alderaan)

Luke must have been about 20, they all complained that Annie was far too old to become a Jedi, so how come Luke can start at the age of 20

He wields a light saber around gets hit a couple of times by that practise ball, and suddenly the force is strong with him (Vader senses that), but Obi ***** Nobi doesnt

That was when there were lots of jedi to go out searching for recruits and they could be picky, but with not many of the faith left yoda cannot or does not have the means to find younglings.

or is luke the chosen one thus special?

Sh*t your right, I was thinking of empire and the training scenes.

could that not be said of obe won that he thought training luke was his last hope(was obi aware where yoda was?) or maybe he knew after fighting darth he would snuff it thus needed to pass on his teachings?

quite possibly

a few things made me laugh watching A New Hope after seeing Ep III

Obi says to Luke, I have something for you, your Father wanted you to have it, but your uncle wouldnt let him, (his light saber) now Im pretty sure Obi Wan nicked Annie's Light Saber when he left him, and I dont remember him shouting oh give that to my son

Also Obi said oh I havent gone by the name of Obi Wan since before you were born (he was still Obi Wan, after the birth) all minor detail I know hehe

And in A New Hope, Jedi is referred to as a religion, and not a council etc

Wasnt C3PO left with Beru & Owen in Ep II? where he could have his outer body fitted, hence him being finished in time for Ep III

I thought Annakin was the chosen one because he was the immaculate conception basically, the mediclorians, gave him life, that's what his mum said in Phantom Menace. I figure that Luke and Leia could be of use because they were his kids, and could get him back from the dark side which happened in Return of the Jedi, Annakin/Darth could not watch his son being killed, so eventually bringing balance.
Now what I don't understand is the Force? Fear leads to hate, hate leads to anger, anger leads to suffering, suffering leads to the Darkside??? Watching the Phantom Menace, Qui Jon Jin gets killed by Darth Maul, while Obi Wan watches on!! Now Obi Wan looks p@ssed at that point so surely he kills Darth Maul, for revenge? otherwise he'd just tut say "hey ho" and walk off?

have a look at my last posts on this thread and youll see why alot of it doesnt make any sense at all...lucas never, EVER, intended to make prequels when he made the original trilogy, thats why there are so many plotholes remaining even after the bigger issues are apparantly 'tied-up' in ROTS...and ill take issue with any geek who says otherwise....!!!

Who knows whether he intended to make them or not, but the original story presented to studios was about Mace Windu, so he had the history of before epIV even in the early 70s. I'm sure he has expanded it alot to fit IV to VI, but the history of where Vader comes from and the history of the Sith etc. had already been formulated by Lucas.

fair one, but consider this...do you think lucas sat down in the 70s and said to himself 'right, im going to make a series of 6 (hexology?) sci-fi adventure movies, but the film technology doesnt exist now to make the first 3 now so ill just make the last 3 and do the others in 20-30 years time.'...?

i think not...although ill concede that the basis for the story was there, but most films have so much unused original material...in fact i heard that he only ever intended to make ep IV and one possible original ending had vader dying, and after the industry screening he was going with that until the public test screening proved so popular...!

the original story was far too long to make into one film, so he had to cut it down into 3 films (original trilogy) to tell his full story
