but it stutters like **** upto 0.4bar then goes once it gets past that
We need to check if the boost soleniod is working properly, pipework from the wastegate acuator just for starters.
There is on the classics, just turn the ignition off and plug the green or black plugs together under the dash.
turn the ignition to the first point and all the relays start working including the boost solenoid.

just checked the engine bay for loose pipes and everything seems to be on ok and nice and tight.
but i dont know where this pipe comming off the regulator is, maybe because i dont know where the regulator is. LOL

Its the actuator pipe you need, the actuator is attached to the turbo, looks like a flying saucer with a rod comming out of it.
There is a pipe that comes off the saucer shape and goes to the left of your engine bay as you look at it.
Just in front of the front strut is the boost solenoid, the pipe should go to it, check it for splits and fit.

Yes,
The boost solenoid is in front of the strut to the left of the engine bay, looks like a small cylinder with three pipes comming off it.
do the plugs and get everything working, take a pipe off the boost solenoid and you should hear it clicking away, if you cant squirt some WD40 down it.

lee,
just done that test with the wires and all i could hear was the fans going then they would stop for 2 secs then start up again. But i couldnt hear any clicking comming from the solenoid, but thats if im looking in the right place. Anyway i found the solenoid where you said but all the pipes to it seem to be solid and i cant get any of them off, i think there metal(doh).
But driving home from daz's last night my boost gauge seemed to be very erratic even when in 5th gear doing 60mph. The needle was sat right on the zero, so not in boost but not negative boost if you get what i mean. But it normally sits well into neg boost at that speed when cruising along

If you pop down to mine tomorrow night I'll have a look.
The boost solenoid has rubber pipes to it so you may have been looking at the wrong bit.
You should have been able to hear it clicking away so that maybe the problem.
