GT4 is the best driving sim bar none. This is because of the physics. I don't understand why u think they are poor. We all know the AI is terrible and there is no damage but these are way down the list compared to handling in my book. Which is why Forza is **** and I'll never play it again (after giving it a good chance over a couple of nights in several cars) and I'm still playing GT4.

The PS3 will be different because the 360 will have a 6 month head start. Sony were first to market with the PS2 & PSP, so there was no reason to rush.

I like Windows tbh, never have any problems or crashes with it. Had XP for 2 years now and its never let me down, compared to Win98 which was tosh.
I like MS products personally, but i'm never one to badnwagon jump, or personally insult someone i've never even met.
Hence why I have both Xbox and PS2. Why miss out when you can have both
(Same argument with Mac and PC)

as far as M$ vs Apple all I can say is one Monopoly is as bad as another. Mac stuff is good, but you have to buy everything with a Mac badge and get charged a nice premium for it. Mind you, if it does the job and causes less hassle then it could be a good thing. Problem with Windows is is is too reliant on 3rd-party hardware. It's the incompatibility that's their biggest hurdle.
Since my Brother works for a large Mac reseller he pointed out that they get as much callouts for Mac hardware as they do PC's. Generally though, it's nowhere near the same when it comes to operating system problems.

Surely it's all part of the same thing. Good ai is no use if the handling is naff, and good handling is no good if the ai is naff. Both can adversely affect the gameplay. The damage in Forza also affects the handling. Something that GT4 does not do.
Forza is harder than GT4, mainly because it is more realistic. It is not ****, (as many people on here will agree with).

GT4 is by far the most realistic driving sim in terms of handling physics, Forza doesn't have any physics in comparison and yes it is definately sh!te (for handling of the cars).
In GT4, I can do stuff which just isn't possible in a real car. Braking around bends for example. In Forza you have to get the braking just right and over and done with before you get to the bend, (just like in real life), otherwise you'll fly off the track, but you can get away with it a lot more in GT4.
How you can call GT4 more of a sim when it has exceedingly naff AI, and doesn't even do damage modelling (which really does affect the handling of the car greatly) is beyond me

As all the main cpu`s of each of the consoles is either a sole IBM product; power pc chips in Xbox 360 and Nintendo revolution. Or partners in one with sony and Toshiba with the Cell processor.
Apart from that I think the Sony will be on top again. Mainly due to brand awareness, and backward compatabilty with the previous two consoles will be a big winner with parents who will see a continuation in the massive investment in kids games they have spent over the last few years, not coming redundant.

What I feel to be the main difference is the way you can get the back end out in GT4 where as in Forza it just doesn't have anywhere near the same feel. I still think GT3 was slightly better than GT4, the viper when heavily modified was an absolute dream to drive, was so tail happy but controllable and drifted superbly. I can't see anything like that happening in Forza, the cars just appear to be swivelling on a centre point when they lose grip, feels so unrealisitc.
I think the PS3 will win hands down, the PS3 is really next-gen technology, the Xbox 360 still based on todays technology really. (PC Format had an article stating that 2 PS3s linked together would be the 500th most powerful computer in the world today)
Look at the videos released on sites such as IGN. the XBox looks games look similar to current high-end PC games, the PS3 graphics just look in a different league altogether. (i think it also has the Blu-ray DVD over the Xbox, but may be wrong)
Combine that with the PSP, backwards compatibility, the fact that Sony does have the best overall games (too many) and the Asian market sewn op then they are a clear winner.
I've had virtually every console in the last 25 years and I never really warmed to the Xbox, the games were too clean/clinical looking, can't really put my finger on it.

I can only echo the comments above - Xbox 360 is really the current XBox with a power boost, at least Sony have tried to evolve the PlayStation again by going Blu-Ray, although I see this as a pre-emptive strike in the next-gen DVD war - other manufacturers are pushing HD-DVD forward, This is Sony's way of getting millions of Blu-Ray players into homes before HD-DVD really gets the chance to take off.
Where Sony needs to make up ground is in the online arena, MS are streets ahead - Halo 2 is fantastic online even though IMHO the single player "offline" is garbage. Sony also need to make the workings of it easier, getting the PS2 online is difficult to say the least, getting the Xbox online was so easy it was beyond beleif (esp. for MS!) plugged the Network cable in and BANG! - there is was. Childs play.
I think MS's idea about Halo 3 and launching it at the same time as PS3 is interesting but I don't see it hurting PS3 sales, in fact quite the opposite - although not many have realised that arguably Sony's biggest franchise is due to have it's next instalment at XBox 360's launch - Tomb Raider.

So MS has decided to play catch up already? Be interesting to see which they decide to go with, and they can't leave the decision too long.
Nowt worng with Betamax BTW, it was a lot better than VHS in terms of pic quality. Sony learned a valuable lesson with that thing. (ie advertise it better!).
Dunk - is the 360 available in different colours like the PS3? I thought I saw a black one on TV and it looked much nicer - same goes for the PS3, I'm not getting the silver one.

The 360 as far as I know comes in the one main colour, but the whole front panel is skinnable so you go have whatever look you want. Wouldn't be surprised if they release special editions as time goes on.

I will probably stick with Sony and end up with a PS3. Purely from past experience. Have got an original PS and a PS2 so I will probably stick with the same (as I would expect alot to do also).
X-Box has never really tempted me....don't know why.....never even played on one actually...probably best as I would end up wanting both!

I know about the skins - how long before eBay is inundated with cheapo versions that don't fit?
Maybe catch up was the wrong word, MS & Sony look to be playing poker at the moment - MS keeping its disc drive to its chest & Sony its hard disc...

Bound to be loads of fake skins going around
I honestly think that MS could stitch up Sony with the new media formats by providing more support for their chosen format in Windows. MS are seeing Xbox 360 as an extention of Windows, rather than a standalone box. Smarts of Apple Vs Microsoft to me.
