How can you get lost - it's only 5 junctions/ turns from the TP to your village...

...and if you follow me I might blow you away into the weeds (on a certain bend anyway)...

Eh yup Paul ! A bit late

I've just been sat in your seat in a Thrapper Got chatting to a guy kicking around our work and he happened to have just called in on his way home from the Spanish GP, in his 360 and to top it all, he let me have a go

Very easy to drive, soon got used to the paddles. A bit (bit ) more roll than the CS, but still awesome. Managed to get brake fade in a 3 mile sprint So Ian, I've prooved I can drive one. When's it my go

Count me in for the next WYIOC meet I've finally gotten another Scoob (it's been yonks since i had the old white Type RA)!

What ever happened to the Wakefield to Huddersfield run/convoy? I still look back (fondly) on the time i tried following the pack (inc. the Ferrari) in my little Escort RS Turbo

Hi Kel. Good to have you back

We don't meet at the Fenay anymore. They had a refit, changed the menu and suddenly got busy so didn't need our custom. They also had a new policy of all kids out by 9, and no people with kids could be served food after 8 because of this. It meant some of our number getting a rough deal, so we moved to the Trading Post at Whitwood, Castleford. No particularly good runs to/from the place though, which is why on the lighter summer nights we are having extra mid-month meets like this months Ladybower run (next weds).

Except the bit about the runs. Holmfield Arms to Whitwood can be good (if a little short), although it's a long way round from Ackworth

It is a slight detour but if the convoy is as good as it used to be, then count me in.

If by 'those guys' you mean Peccy, then keeping up isn't an option. Thankfully he's nice enough to wait every mile or so for mere mortals to catch up

Default LONG TIME NO SEE

Well heres an update on the marvellous adventures of Jason's gearbox.

Blew the gearbox at Rallydrive.Apparently not one tooth left on either mating cog(OOPS)
Bought another gearbox for the princely sum of £400 then paid £120 for fitting(wallet breathes deep sigh).Unfortunately the new gearbox has a graunchy type noise coming from the transfer box so told the guy i bought it off and he told me he'd give me my money back(fair enough).
Took my original gearbox to a reconditioner for repair cos figured at least i know it'll be right when i get it back and told it'd cost £300.
Was now thinking thats not bad cos obviously £300 for repair,£120 for fitting and then get £400 back for the other so only £20 out of pocket.
Told its a 2 day turn round cos they keep most bits(fantastic)
Rings them on monday after 5 days they then ask me"is it a uk or a jap box cos there's no third gear left" tells them its a jap "yes sir we'll order that no problem we'll ring you when its ready"(that old chestnut)
Finally run out of patience today and ring them back to be told"Sorry couldn't get a third gear so we've put you a complete triple syncro gearset in,That'll be £600 please"(falls over on the floor with shock)
So i hung up and breathed in a paper bag for a few minutes and then rung them back to see why they didn't think to phone first, babbling not paying that much phrases etc and the guy says "i'll see what i can do"
You lot bored yet?
Anyhow he comes back on the phone and says £500 for cash so i agree begrudgingly. Then i phone my garage and they can't fit it till next wed.
Now thinking well there goes scoobyshootout,so phones back ther gearbox place. They then say yeah we'll fit it fri morning for £80.
So there is a god woohoo.
So should be ther at the next meet(fingers crossed)

Jason - truly an epic adventure. Which is exactly what you missed this eve, as the WYIOC members, ably assisted by their friends from across the region, ventured forth to Ladybower....

Sadly, I wasn't there, due to the golden excuse of electrical problems. Not with the car though.... Needed to finish some light fittings urgently....

There again, Al didn't make it either, thanks to the somewhat feeble reason of not wanting to bu@@er up his car. Which is actually a very good reason, as he's soon getting a ...... ***** $$$$$$ Shh.... Pretend you don't know......

Hopefully see you next Thursday, Ikea's finest permitting....
