A big thanks from me for my bumpsteer and geometry.
As expected the car feels so much better, getting around corners is so easy and precise now (just like a scooby should be).

Bob, that's what i thought!
I was convinced the Uk limiter was at 7100.
Where does the rollers pick up the RPM information from?
From what i could see there was no phsical connection to the car for this information, so i assume it's worked out through, gearing/tyre diameter/ road speed etc.
If so i have 17's on with 205/45/17 tyres with not much tread left which could have thrown it out.
Dan.

My rev limit is 7400 I think rich took it to the limiter as it reved to 7375.
As for Dan's, I suspect someone forgot to calibrate the machine to the car...
This should have been done for each car as they are put on the rollers.
Rich holds the rpm at 3000 by looking at the rev counter on the car, then hits a button on the remote that tells the computer that the current speed the rollers are doing equals 3000 engine rpm.
either that, or the rpm counter on the car is out
I can't think of any other reason.
Andy

Ahh that's how you do it.
Next time we can use the rpm read out on the secs monitor direct form the ecu. that should be a little more accurate.

I think you'll need to bring it back for a strip down, strange though, everything seemed tight and all lined up where it should be.
Perhaps it's a top mount wearing out.

Fuzz, did you want to add my engine details?
MD304, HKS decat, GruppeS headers, Link ECU
Excellent result from your car, I left before it went on tho Was there any problems? On the APS thread you said something about it breathing?
Neil.

Updated xlr document..
breathing, yes heavily. the combustion pressure is just too great for the standard internals to handle.. I could see it breathing on the rollers, and it does smoke a little on the road with the race fuel..
less than 1/4 tank left anyhow, oh and nearly had a head on tonight so it best stay in the garage until I put the optimax map back in... Far too much of a loon machine!!
Was fun while it lasted. that had to be the most expensive tank of fuel I've ever bought though.

Dan your car definately has the std limit set, rollers have to have rpm at a speed entered according to gearing and the gear its run in, then it calcs revs from speed usually. Previous car to yours was a Legacy which I don't have the gearing to hand for but maybe someone does. Since it read 7900 ish the rpm difference would be something around 900 (if you assume that it didn't quite hit the limiter), that will change your torque noticeably.

Thanks for the reply Bob, well after another day on my back under the car replacing the up pipe, a trip back to PS will make some interesting reading
Question is what to replace the helix flexi job with, i was thinking a slipjointed one instead, prob better gas flow but not totally solid.

As long as you dont run with fully bracketed turbo (i.e remove the large gearbox side one then you should have no problem running a solid up pipe.
I have a 2" Hayward and Scott one and have yet to crack that (2-3 years on) but as I state I am only "holding the turbo up" with the small bracket that bolts to the head. This has a slotted hole which allows the necessary movement.
