I wonder what the sort of times will qualify for the JSFC

Am suprised that there arent more scoobs going as it seems like a good event. Isnt very well publicised I guess (I only found out by stumbling across a SN thread).

Kev: You know its cheaper it you buy Sunday & Monday track time at the same time?

Go on....make it Monday...you know you want to

Never mind mate. Could have been worse.

I think Mikee should have a v good chance in qualifying for the JSFC, which will be on Monday anyway.

Okay. Am trying to re-arrange my schedule as it does seem to make sense to go on Sunday (as well as Monday).

I'll be going Sunday as weather looks good and there is more tracktime. Monday is forecasted for sun and showers.

May well go Monday too.

Yes MONDAY.

The organisers advised me that the Monday is the better of the 2 days.

The Sunday apparently is for test runs etc etc for the drifting etc etc.

There's nothing stopping you from going on the Sunday or/and the Monday.

Just let me know please.

It's like all 2 day shows, there is always a better day, and it's generally the last one of the 2.

Cheers

Craig

doh! Had my heart set on Sunday for two reasons:

1. Weather is better on Sunday (although Mondays forecast has now changed from showery to sunny intervals)

2. strip is open for 8/9 hours on Sunday (plus you 'could' qualify to run on the 'hot hour' where they clean the track and lay some nice fresh sticky stuff down). On Monday you only get 3.5(?) hours (which I assume will be busy) to qualify for JSFC before they close the strip for the comp.

I'm quite flexible though although it would be good to give qualifying a shot. The organisers reckon you 'may' be able to qualify with 12s and 13s. I doubt very much that 13s will qualify, 12s maybe an outside chance. Top 32 road legal (wearing road legal rubber) go through.

By the look of it they are going to be picky with what can be classed as 'road tyres'

"Any dot rated drag radial/circuit tyre is no permissable. The scrutineers at the show will know which tryes are legal"

"We will compile a list with pictures to give to the scrutineers, which will show what tyres are/are not legal. Just to add...Dot rated drag radials/cut slicks are not road legal."

Bit of a pain really. I'll be running on street legal 'E' marked sticky tyres. You could call them cut slicks if you wanted to be fussy.
