Sometimes in football, its about luck ................. last night Liverpool got that stroke of luck in the fouth minute......Chelsea then had 86 mins to respond, and they failed. To which the ref gave them 6 extra minutes... and they still failed.

The reds played and defender their hearts out...

(fair play to pauld37 ....)

I'm a Chelsea fan and can honestly say we could have played until 3am and still wouldn't have scored!!

It was just Liverpool's night, $hit happens in football - sometimes everything goes for you sometimes nothing goes for you!!

Fair play though, Liverpool are in the final and I hope they do the business!!

AC Milan (well unless PSV come up with a miracle) will be tough opponents though and if they play as they can, I don't think Liverpool will have enough!!

Yeah, nice one pauld37

That's something I didn't expect, lot's of Chelsea fans on phone ins etc. not being bitter and wishing Liverpool well.

Your probably right, in that you've had your luck this season, but if you play well as a team, you make your own luck. Great team spirit Chelsea, maybe not the best 11 individual players, but they all play well together. You just need a quality striker and then you will be awesome.

Goal or not, I think the ref was about to blow for a penalty and that would have meant losing Cech for almost 90 mins.

Squeeky bum time for Everton!

Just to stir it abit ...............well hope not,

i dont think the team that wins the Cup, should have an automatic right to defend it... if they want an automatic right, finish in the top 4. As much as i hate to say it, but Everton deserve 4th on merit, theyve been there all year... just like us last night, we took our chance (and luck) and kept it, Everton, have done that with the 4th spot.... If it all rests on the last game, were someone else finishes, or mathematical possibilities ....then whats the season for..??

If we want to defend the cup (fingers x'd), we should have worked harder during the season.

Bit of a misconcenption that.

Uefa give the English FA 4 places in the Champions League, to dish out how they see fit.

They could give it to the team with the least bookings if they wanted!

Pleased with the Uefa Presidents comments in the week, that they might consider 5 teams. I agree Everton deserve to be in it, even if they do play that long ball Chelsea stuff!

The precedent is there, the Spanish FA got an extra spot the year Real won it and came nowhere in their league. But it'll be the same as usual, one rule for the continentals, another for the English

FFS they may as well give us the scottish alocation, coz they always go nowhere anyway

If it's been the top 4 in the premiership to qualify from day 1, then it should stay the top 4 - regardless of whether Liverpool win it but finish fifth!!

Now if the FA were to state from the BEGINNING of the season that it's top 4 UNLESS an English club wins it and finishes outside the top 4, then no problem!!

To just turn round and tell Everton "Oh actually you can't have it 'cos Liverpool won it, despite being less consistant in the league" would be b0ll0x!!

All assuming Everton actually hang onto 4th spot of course!!

Actually Villareal got put in the Uefa Cup, even though they finished above Real Madrid, with a few million as a sweetener!

Default Reds win Euro kit battle

Liverpool will wear their famous all-red strip for the Champions League final against AC Milan later this month.

It was feared Rafael Benitez's side would have to play in their yellow and black away shirt as Milan's home top is red and black stripes.

However, the two clubs have agreed that the Italians will wear all white in Istanbul.

It could prove to be a lucky omen for the Merseysiders, as every time they have won the European Cup they have worn red strips against teams in white

1981 Pink Floyd play with Roger Waters for the last time (?)

2005 Pink Floyd play together again!

Just listening to "Fearless" - which incorporates the LFC crowd singing You'll Never Walk Again, perfect
