I think you gotta be taking your cars really really seriously to be prepared to spend more than £2000 on insurance.........I wouldn't spend that much no matter how fast or cool it made me feel.

and if thats more than 10% of your annual income then u really gotta get some advice about money!!
Exactly, that why I dont get insured on my own name, theres no point paying a load of money for insurance, I really would love an evo 8 but insurance on my dads name is around £4k, even if I did have that sort of money I would not pay it on priciple. Cause you wont have much money for long.

Insurance money for old rope.

Insurance is alot and i think you will have to get a tracker fitted to.
I've worked hard for my scooby, but it was well worth it mate get one. Save abit longer and plan to spend around £6k for a decent one with low mileage!

Over £2K for insurance.... you guys are mad! As much as I've enjoyed my Impreza there is no way it's that good a car to pay that amount to drive it! Unless you earn a very good wage then I am pretty certain in a couple of years you will regret having spent that amount of money on a car. I know I do.

gotta agree i'm 32 and pay £800 with 4 years no claims on a MY00...if it doesn't go down this year with full no claims I shall be pi$$ed!! No way i could justify spending more than £1k on principle alone, once that happens i'm getting back on my company car scheme and buying a Caterham for fun

Hi mate, either you've got one hell of a bad record with your licence or your being ripped off!!!

I'm 24 and only pay £850

It's not that I'm a terrible driver with a bad record, but I had a fault accident in 2003 (£3000) and had another claim in 1999.

No points, but never seem to get my NCD accumulated.

Driving thirteen years, aged 31 3/4, wife, two kids, house and gainful employment. Never had points.

Paying over £2000 for 95 WRX slghtly modified, now just been quoted £2350 for STi 03 and pciking it up tomorrow,

You've just got to pay, unless anyone out there can tell me otherwise. Anyone with a similar type record that knows of a good quote,

Jerry

Anyone got some cheap 4-pots for sale?
Isn't £350 every 3500 miles excessive?

I'm considering getting a MY00 Wagon - but if it's going to need that kind of servicing, I'll forget it.

I have a MY00 wagon; I change the oil/oil filter and wash my green panel filter every six months\6k miles. Change the plugs every twelve months\12k.

Oilman is always good for cheap oil (i use motul fully synthetic), you should be able to find him by searching...

i do around 15k a year btw

I based that on the fact that I do around 7000 a year and have her serviced in February and June usually - in fact, last year I had her done in Feb, June and November

Hopefully she will appreciate all the attention and any problems are found sooner rather than too late Yes, it is excessive but it gives me piece of mind.
