Gangsta mate, I don't remember saying I'm a STI slayer, maybe a WR1 slayer hehehehe, only joking.
I haven't been on the track because:
1, As Betts and I are the only 2 Engineering fitters at Calor Coryton, we can't take the same days off, hence my absence at Brands Hatch
2, I didn't like the idea of ripping up my brand new set of Toyos on the track last year
3, I've got a few jobs to do on the car before I will take my car to Santa Pod, Castle Combe etc
I don't want to risk my car on the 'Pod, due to seeing so many cars get broken on Sunday.
My lil ole WRX V-Limited has a full decat, walbro 255 fuel pump, Green cotton filter, boost controller, STIv5 intercooler with water spray (Soon to be fitted) Z4 ECU with ScoobyECU upgrade chip, with boost set at 1.1bar, and fuel set at 17 PSI, oh, and my car weighs in at 1230kg, which is 140kg LIGHTER than the blobeye
Not forgetting the graphics, which add an easy 50BHP

A late thankyou.
Well what a corking day that was. Im glad to say that that was one of the best drives,to and back to an advent.
Having meet the convoy at loughton gave ben and i an extra hour in bed.Which was much needed after once again a great night at southend. Now that just gets bigger and bigger everytime.
Now thinking that a nice 70-80mph all the way to toddington would be on the cards went right out the window the moment i joined the convoy. keeping up the rear has its benifits. Seeing a large line of rally slags darting from lane to lane.watching passengers from the passing cars pointing and watching us all whizz by always gives me a buzz.(you know you love it).
Pulling up at toddington gives us time to refuel....with red bull. Plus meeting up with the other scoobs that lay in waiting. Now if there wasnt a santa pod meet.then im sure we would have stayed there and and had a meet.
Everybodys chating,Tinys boots open handing out forms and stickers and taking down orders for anything that can have esc printed on it.
loads of cleaning gear moving quick from another boot. and best of all. The sun is out.
Then its..le mans style and back on the black stuff. Up a few junctions and on to the twistes. Through the sleepy villages that were asleep untill 40 odd scoobs rumbled through. Kev could have wokern northhants on his own.
What a great run really enjoyed it.
Coming up to the gates must have been such a mad site. I havent seen a car club yet that turns up with so much presence. Just like watching the mods envade brighton in all there glory.(i reckon) There wasnt anybody that didnt turn round to wittness us parading to our show stand area.
Out with the polish. And then straight to the burger van for a bacon buttie and coffe. much needed.
Esc flags are up... We have arrived.
Now theres lots of nice nice scoobs on show. but the ones that stuck in my mind are of course muddys,(not sure about the dash.Dont shot me)the 22b. enough said on that one.and ive always liked wilfs bug eye.
The drag racing commences. With the sound of skylines and supras ripping up the strip first out...these two motors just do it for me. but then so does the cossies and type Rs. Evos... tooooooo much lag (haa ha). As the day strolled on the scoobs took to the sticky suff putting on a great show.even better when two go off together. just gotta love the burble.
Spec c was good to watch giving the wr1 a run for its money. great sound with the equel headers. Love to sit in the pasenger of that one...ave
Now with the pole dancing every hour and a half gave us enough time to walk around and look at the bling motors (vectras, carltons) and stalls.thought the guy selling the gear ***** was a good buy.
Now this day went quick and as theres only so much covette weeling i can watch. Time for the convoy home. And still in the sun!!
once again through the twistes and re-fuel time at the bp. Mass take over of the fourcourt. Is there nowhere that the esc cannot hold a mini meet!
back on the road to the M1. What a convoy in and out of all the novas and shiney fords from the pod. Dont tell me you dont grin as you burble past them.
Time for budgie and co to despatch. And its convoy to the motherland.ESC styliee.
From reading and watching tiny and co race off (not before slowing down at the last tunnel) and missing the A12 turn off, left just a handfull to slow it down and cruise along to our turn offs on the A12.
what can i say but cheers to everybody that took part this weekend. I had a good laugh (on the hill was very funny) you know who you are.
Bit long this...thread.

All that modification and your worried about wearing out your tyres on a track day ...
Your risking the standard engine block with a boost controller, bigger intercooler, ECU upgrade, bigger fuel pump and no warranty anyway so you might as well drop the paranoia and just drive it like it's supposed to be driven.

the way I see it is that if it breaks it breaks. No point worrying about it. I didn't buy my car to not explore what it is capable of ... I wouldn't trick my car out with uber suspension and weight reduction methods as well as a whole lot of torque increase mods and then not make use of that on track.
Just my opinion on all this by the way ... just gets to me a bit when people bang on about their mods and then won't take it on track on airstrips because they don't wanna shred up their tyres or clutch.

I don't bang on about my mods, you asked, so I told you.
The boost controller has been set to give an extra 0.1bar, but at the moment, it's been taken off the car.
If I'm getting to you because I have a lightly modified car and don't use it to it's full potential on trackdays etc, then GOOD!! that makes me ecstatic!! At least I'm not the one with the shagged clutch
