The original single choke carb'd 1.3 SR was 69bhp, then the twin choke model was 75bhp, the 1.4 SR was 77bhp and uses the same Pierburg carb, which is cr@p, ditch it for a twin choke Weber, much better.

The early ones had a full piece front bumper & grill in one, these are the ones with the tartan seats,usually brown. Then around mid 1988 they revised them slightly, with a different grill & front bumper (now separate items), the grey & coloured striped seats, grey dash, but essentially the same shape car.
Then they did a proper facelift in 1990 and the mk2 was launched, with new bumpers, lights, dash, etc.. and was a much nicer car internally.
I had an F-Reg 1.3 SR for 4 years, then a J-Reg SRi for 2 years, both great cars, but that was a long time ago.
