Let us know about the dampers, I have heard nothing but good reports from everyone else. Check that the nuts that hold the damper shaft to the top mounts are done up, I had a similar knocking noise from one of my old 'scorts which turned out to be that.
As for the back, the struts do sit very close to the inner wheel arch, check that the spring caps have been put back in the right place.
WIll check it out mate.
Cheers for the pointers. Sure they are fine - I have just hit half a dozen mega potholes (filled with water) of late so its probably that....
I wasnt part of the 'tunnel' group btw.

Also... I would be interested in Eibach springs if GB takes place...

Can't think of much apart from spring compressors and maybe a breaker bar for the hub bolts/nuts.........
Has anyone had their dampers yet?
I think they might have tried delivering mine today, at least DHL tried to deliver something to me today. Now I'll have to drive over to Lichfield and collect them, assuming they will be open tomorrow (probably not!
)
Just want to get them on the car, fit the Whiteline ALK I have and get it laser aligned!

DHL were closed today, so it looks like I'll have to wait till Tuesday and get them re-delivered or go and collect them.
Thanks for the input chrome, you should have fitted them yourself, they are much easier than other cars I have done as you don't need balljoint seperators.
Like I said before, just remember the long ones go on the back, not the front as I tried to fit them, and do them fronts then rears (or the opposite way around) not one side then the other or you will be fighting against the anti-roll bars and make it so you need to get all four wheels off the ground!!
It's probably a good idea to mark the position of the adjustable camber bolts (the top ones on the front that hold the strut to the hub - there are not on the back as standard) before undoing them so at least you can get the camber somewhere near. I'm going to get mine laser aligned at Subaru afterwards at a cost of £57.50 +VAT = £67.57, though I am also fitting an anti-lift kit at the same time.

Is the knocking is the OE strut top mounts something that could cause the rest of us problems, or is it particular to your car?
Coulty - The group buy is still open, I asked them to leave it open for a month to give additional people the chance to participate.
Just phone up Nathan at buypartsby (01159 835280) and say you are ordering them as part of the Scoobynet group buy.
I dont know exactly mate.. the car gets driven pretty hard over some fairly manky roads.. the car is 5 years old now, 65k on the clock and its got a LOT more power than standard, so no doubt the OE top mounts are just tired..
will keep you all posted
will keep you all posted
Mine arrived at 8.30 this morning and I have been at it all day.... with one more corner to do !
Its a bitch of a job, with stuck hub bolts and everything else you can imagine. A large breaker bar and a gorrila is a must ! The scoobymods and scoobynet diy install threads are a bit basic and make it seem like a walk in the park. Be warned and pay someone.

Sounds like you have been having fun!
The hub bolts are difficult, I broke a chrome socket and my welded up ratchet in the process (with a long hollow bar)!
I used my torque wrench (yes I know you shouldn't use them for undoing stuff, but needs must) and a steel impact socket - they came off ok then. Just remember to drench all the bolts involved in penetrating fluid for a while before trying to undo them.
I rang up DHL today and asked for mine to be re-delivered to my parents address - I should have done that in the first place!
Next on my want list is some rear adjustable camber bolts...

I can highly recommend paying someone to do it
No way would I trust myself to do something as important as the suspension, plus I've got no patience for stuck bolts

2x 19 mm socket/ spanner for the hub bolts
1 large breaker bar
wd 40 etc
17mm long socket to remove the damper top mount bolts ( can get away with a short socket)
19mm to put the new ones on !
Hack saw for the brake hose mounting points, not necessary to remove hoses totally and bleed system again
overkill....Try and Loosen the damper top mount bolts of all 4 before jacking up.
Both sides jacked up so the arb does not hinder removal of struts.
Pain in the **** bits....
1. Removing most large bolts
2. Fitting the rears
Damper/spring change once off, is a 5min job
Hakon
Finally got the last one fitted, the bolt was so siezed I took the car to Extreme scooobies, Paul needed a 2m pipe extension on the spanner to get it off !!
The results are everthing you expect
, so much more confidence and speeed through the corners, fantastic. Get them on as soon as you can...
Thanks to speedydaveb for arranging the group buy

Don't forget all of you fitting your suspension, run the car for a good 500 miles to let it all settle down, then go and get your geometry done. Then you'll know how good it all is

Glad to hear yours are on the car and you are pleased with them. What springs have you got on them? What settings are you using also?
I have got mine now, just need to wait till the weekend to fit them, oh and for my new rubber donut things to arrive that sit between the springs and the top spring caps on the front - you'll need 2x Subaru part 95033FA0000E @ £13.18 each +VAT if they are worn through like mine!
I have had Eibach springs for 3 years now and always found the rear (more so than the front) a bit bouncy with the standard struts.
Yesterday I had fronts on 2 and rear on 4 (still found the rear a little aloof) but have now gone for 3front and 6 rear. Really enjoying the flat attitude whilst cornering
Will mess around sometime with f 4 and r 8 to see.....
I have found I can access the rear adjuster by putting my arms through the wheel, so I dont have to jack up all the time.

hakon, you must be running on roads like billiard tables m8
I tried 6f and 8r on a trip around cumbria/scotland for a day, and although I didn't get any back ache, it was very stiff. I'm back to 2f and 4r at the mo', which gives me great compliance on the majority of roads around here *cheshire/derbyshire*
I've only used 6f and 8r on the track, tried it once on the road, and nearly needed new dentures
I did have a table that showed how the different settings compared to the standard setup, I'll have another look for it on the old gb thread later.

I am loving the new feel to the car and am willing to put up with it as it is making me smile again, similar to when I first owned it
A couple of months back I fitted the Whiteline Rear ARB which made a significant reduction in the amount of understeer and I think now with the new damping, its really adding to the whole set up.

Would like to see the table, if you can find it......

Nice one halkon, glad your liking it
Don't forget to get the geometry done after 500 miles though, you really will notice a big difference in handling, turn in and stability at speed.
Have fun, and watch those dentures
