No, just for 2 reasons:
1
I need to save the trans for this hill climb season. The races are now fast n furious, about one event every 2 weeks or more frequent. Can't afford the time if the box breaks to find a 6 speeder/diff and fit it all.
2
Promised my daughter/wife to take them to Santa Pod for some sub 6's or even sub 5's.
Lots and lots of nostalgia for me as my daughter is the same age now as I was when I first got the drag racing/hot rod bug that lasted 17 years.

If you are doing it then good luck!

Graham.

Graham,
Chrome told me you were looking for me (at the end of the day) You should have come and had a chat and a squint at the car. I had all day so was never "that" busy

I think we should "all" have T shirts with our names on

Mark,

Glad to see you have finally got going on your own 2.5, after bringing in so many for the rest of us.
Im not working in TW anymore, so I never realised it was mssing from the fron of your house.

I see it is being garaged 20miles from your house. If it is in my direction and you need a quick hand for a couple of hours, I think you still have my mobile number.

If you need ten mates, I can easily arrange at least 5 kentscoobies

Andy

Mark:
We are missing some up-dates on progress!
I can't wait to see what the 'effect' of the 2.5/6 speeder will be in sprints/hill climbs at the same venue compared to the 2 litre/5 speeder.

Hurry up! ( )

You can tell all I have to do is wash mine....

What have I done??

Gonna a bought another car

I'm the owner of a 205 GTi (1.6)
The good side to this is I now have transport and in theory should get the project finished sooner. I was pissed off sharing one car with the bread knife and having to catch the train. Down side is she won't get a new car for another couple months which went down well.

Graham broken your gearbox yet?

Mark A (POC)

Just noticed your post Hol, you may regret the offer at 0200 in morning when I can't get the thing started But thanks, I have a week off in July when I hope to have it finished, may call for assistance.

Hope that no EVO's will come after you.

Be careful about the wife, she is your sponsor.

She wants him to stop spending the Holiday Money (all motorsport wives are the same Mark)

To the project:

Just how far are you along the line now?
All the trans is in and done.
The engine on the stand etc; is it ready to be dressed and bolted in?
Pics?

Project thread is going light, everyone done and enjoying themselves (unless you are loosing in hill climbing...) so you are the only one doing anything.

You mean spending lots of $$$$?

I did that, but to be honest i am very pleased I did as the car is running really well and is delivering the results despite the old fart driver..

Found out the clutch prob yet Kev?

The hill climb season is 1/2 way through!

Hope this reminds you why you are doing it all!

I have to say I can't believe how little the gearstick moves, compared with the old 5sp. It's also a fanatsically positive action, like a rifle bolt.

Anybody baffled a subaru sump?

Thanks again David, the gearbox looks new and the shift feels like it as well.

Big thank you to your staff (Girl in the parts dept) who told me to reuse the waterpump gasket and that the oil pump had no gasket. Local Subaru garage wanted the chassis number as the gasket had changed at least 3 times (utter billshut)

Is the price of the sump o the website?

Regards Mark

Mark:
Do you recon you can ****** 2nd from 3rd while panic braking towards the 90 Left that you are blasting up to on the rev limiter?

You know what I mean, can you feel you will find the right cog in amongst all the action?
Is this why you have the gearbox mounting? (pic of that would be nice to see!)
