(i have one too that would seem to have a far superior power to weight ratio too )

No big heavy 6 speed box with too short ratios, no crash frame (removed mine as per spec C) Sti bonnet fitted, lighter rear and front diffs than Sti, no AVCS system, lighter brakes, lighter tubular headers (like spec C)
I have not weighed it but on Delta dyno, it's quicker through 3rd gear than a JDM Sti9 twin scroll is in 4th (and the Sti was EcuTeK mapped to 340bhp/340lbft)
The Bug/Blob WRX is the performance bargain of the century, fit headers, hybrid TD04 turbo, decat and Tek map for under £2k all in and whip Sti's/Spec C's (you would even get a set of Eibachs included in the £2k ! )

At 1310kg, it is 120kg lighter than a "regular" Sti. Weight distribution has also been carefully thought about with the larger intercooler water spray container now beginning fitted behind the rear seat panel.
The chassis has also been improved with extra rigidity and the suspension features changes to caster and geometry set-up. Even the 17 inch Alloys feature a special new tyre design developed with Bridgestone.
The improvement in performance is just as thorough; the engine now features a lower resistance roller bearing turbo, Motor sport ECU and revised inlet cams. This all adds to a more responsive and powerful engine, torque has improved by 8.5 lbft (now 290lbft). The 'Spec C' is the ultimate performance incarnation of the STI range.

"It cuts 90kg from the 'Spec C' "
"it is 120kg lighter than a "regular" Sti"
Hmm, some confusion there
From Subarus own website http://www.subaru.co.uk/IMGGB/WWW/Su...4?Opendocument
Sti UK = 1475kg
WRX = 1395kg

I went out in the 'Spec C' today with Mr Tuscan.
That is a serious bit of kit!
And boy can he can drive!!
I'm amazed at the differance weight, dccd and a twin scroll turbo makes. And it's not even had a decat / remap yet!!
Well impressed!!
