SPEC 'C' been on the rollers today.........

ok so took it to the WR1oc rolling road day, have come back with some strange but ok figures.........

only 290bhp but 315lb torque..... been told its running rich and the map could do with a tweek.... time for an exhaust and re-map i guess....... :D:D

TonyBurns 12 March 2005 04:47 PM

Those figures are about right for the milage, shove a panel filter in there and watch yourself smile as the torque and bhp go up some more ;):D
First time in mine at 1700 miles she ran 288bhp and just over 300bs of torque so a fair comparison.

Tony:D

Danny B 12 March 2005 04:50 PM

How come they are always quoted as having 320bhp when in reality they seem to have stuck to the Gentlemans agreement of 287bhp

TonyBurns 12 March 2005 04:52 PM

They dont quote 320bhp, the book figures for this car are 280ps and 290lbs of torque, anything after that is a bonus ;):D

i thought every one just uses it as a comparsion because its lighter.so they say its like having or its as quick as a 330bhp sti

p1doc 12 March 2005 07:24 PM

a stanard sti ppp has better bhp than that
martin

chrisp 12 March 2005 07:39 PM

Production car wise the s202 was the most powerful scoob to leave the factory 320ps (315bhp). They remap rather well Rasher's is running 350bhp and 346lb/ft just with an ecutek remap.

Even mine responded well to a remap 276bhp and 249lb/ft standard went to 320bhp and 280lb/ft after a remap (still got the d/p cat as well).

Running again next week :D

bluenose172 12 March 2005 10:31 PM

Chris what kind of Impreza do you have? I've always thought about just going for a remap and forgetting about the de-cat.

rizzy 12 March 2005 11:13 PM

i got a my05 sti i assuem the jap spec comes 310bhp standard and 310 ltb.
how much more would i see with a remap and decat?

can i have a reliable 350-380?

thecirsch 13 March 2005 01:01 AM

Is this the same Spec C that rinsed a certain 315 BHP WR1???? ;) :D :D

I would agree with that as when you overtook me on the A12 and put your foot down there was quite a lot of black smoke out of your exhaust, 315lbft is a great torque figure though. Great day out (esp as my std WR1 made 322 BHP) we will try to get along to any future events.

I wouldn't do anything until you get it checked out by a garage with a good reputation.

" Now a new Prodrive performance package (to be fitted after registration of the vehicle) boosts power output to an awesome 320 PS."
that is a quote off a subaru website !!
"Limited to 500 vehicles, the WR1 features a power increase to around 320 PS with a range of technical and visual upgrades."
and here is another , i always presumed the wr1 had 320 bhp !!

my00 wrx type ra with a vf29 turbo, fuel pump, hoses and green filter remapped by tsl-motorsport. It ran 337bhp on another rr a few weeks later on a very cold day in december. With the short ratio box and 1240kgs its a nippy little motor.

320 PS = 315.5 BHP, mine made 322.3 BHP well chuffed.
