**** in ELL Tony!!!

The key thing is you're ok. It could have been your kiddy-taxi duty, so count yourself lucky.

Let me know if there's anything I can do.

You may be pleasantly suprised with L V.
Will try and call you later m8

Shiiiiit tone not good

The car should be down as damaged repaired unless written off - mine wasn't. I know that doesn't help with the insurance BUT you should keep your protected NCB for 2 crashes in the 3yrs...

If they do rape your NCB it should also be only 2yrs. Will soften the blow a bit - but still gonna be a bit more than this year

sorry to hear about this tony, hope you get back on the road soon, don't let the wife win, any other car would have folded down the ditch, and you'd be in hossy now!
any pictures though?

Absolutely right, silly thing was it was at low speed but because of the 7foot deep culvert made a minor excursion quite serious

Sorry to hear of your prang, luck of the draw really,
few years back i did a road rally in my scoob, and going down a single track road another car came the oposite way, i was blinded by his lights so squinted a bit and drew into what i thoght was a wide verge... i didnt see the freshly dug drainage channel!!!, car ended up on the door handles with two wheels in the air!! i was convinced it was a biggie. a farmer pulled it out for me, and the only thing that was of any concern was the brake light wouldn go out. a quick hose on the front calipers to get rid of the crud and all was well. if there had been damage i would have had to stump up as obviously the terms of the insurance state " no racing etc!!"

regards
dave

ps reshelling might be a cheaper option, just like a big airfix kit really!!

I would have been very scared by that point wondering how to get out, I had an experience which must have had a similar feeling last summer when a car pinned me against a garage wall. Not pleasant Hope your injuries aren't too painful.

When i swerved I thought the same. This one was just been widened and deepened by the Council. it has only a foot of grass verge then big drop :rollesyes: When i was pulled out Drivers window I stepped straight offf the rear door onto the road.
The car took a very hard fall on drivers wheel and front roof pillar I thought it was going to Cartwheel otherwise panel damage not too bad considering.
So very hard to call will just depend on unseen damage, the car seemed to crab badly during the 2 mile drive and very strange noises from drivetrain. I think maybe £4k on body and £3K on suspension.

But will have a better idea Monday hope to have a quoteby then

Sorry to hear about your failed attempt at dyke jumping Tony.

Hope that toe and hand get better soon.

Insurance company should be relieved that other vehicles and people were not involved. Meeting your claim for this should be petty cash to them. You've been paying your premiums, that's what insurance is all about. If people didn't have accidents, there would be no such thing as insurance. See what they come up with, your ncd may not be affected as much as you fear.

Understandable that your wife should be concerned, I'd worry if she wasn't.

Good luck with it all. I am confident that we shall meet up with you ... and a scoob ... again, at some event during 2005.

Kaz

Very unpleasent My son's best mate, in university gap year, was hooking up a Tractor to Trailer on his dads farm, VERY VERY sad so in the shceme of thing count myself lucky.

After breaking Toe I calmed down, I just opened the Drivers electric window and a nice man stood on my rear door helped me out simple

There is some consolation in not having hit this animal. In a few years you'll have forgotten all about this prang. Twenty years later I still remember when I hit a fox. I will spare the details.

Glad you weren't hurt, damned shame about the motor.

Screwd.

Well just think those Vauxhall zafira GSi turbos not the same as a Impreza but probably as quick maybe cheaper to insure aswell. definitely surprise a few people. Sorry to hear of the mishap hope your wife forgives and looks at the bright side of life least your still breathing for her to get mad at.

Very sorry to hear of your accident. It was like deja vous for me, I managed to the throw a rear wheel drive Sierra Cosworth in a ditch just out side of Weobley about 8 years ago when a pheasnt flew out from the side straight at the windscreen and scarred me half to death. As you say, instinct takes over and I swerved to avoid it and ended up in the ditch Low speed accident but the amount of damage was quite extensive, the ditches around our way are very unforgiving!!!!
Hope you get your car fixed, Hereford want be the same without it.

Maybe that's the info your insurers need!

6 foot drop, with only a foot of verge sounds pretty dangerous! Are there any warning signs along that section of road?

Apparantly Im living in the past The man at Body shop had a chuckle when I said the cost I thought, thought I was trying to take the P*** The roof and pillar alone are expensive jobs. The Windscreen is about £1K.

So not trying to second guess the amount as he's doing the quotation Today
