Have just started writing my letter. It's so hard to get over every argument against it, but I am trying.
I had a look on the ABD's website and I was hoping for a big banner saying, "write to your MP to stop them controlling your driving habits!" but didn't. Bit disappointed, so will write to them too.
Guy at work today said the only way to stop them is to get elected into local Government myself. Surely there's got to be an easier way!? His opinion was that "they" will do it anyway whether or not we complain. I think this may be the attitude of many. I said we do have a choice, don't vote them in at the next election. "But there's no genuine alternative" he said......
We're doomed!

Part of the point about my thread "China the future?" is that I believe that our politicians actually aren't stupid and can see the way things are going.
They, I think, realise that we will soon be on a downward slope economically with the Far East on the upward slope.
They therefore, need to get into place systems of social control to protect their positions. They might argue "to ensure stability in difficult times".

Vegescoob, how is taking away our liberty ensuring stability? I would have thought it would cause social unrest in any times let alone a stressful difficult time.
Please explain further.

Stalin killed 26 million in Ukraine alone without facing any major instability, he made Hitler look like a boy scout, and all this was possible because of the systems of control and oppression he had in place. The people felt that they were powerless to do anything.
The European and UK administration look to be aiming for exactly the same levels of control but using more advanced technology. I doubt if they intend to kill 26 million but no matter what they do the whole point of the control will be to leave the citizens feeling powerless to do anything about acts being carried out in their name.

Get the system in place early so people are used to it. Gradually increase the restrictions on them. Most people conform.
Look how long it took the USSR to collapse and even now there are many there today who would like it back. North Korea, an extreme example, but shows what can be done.
Look how many are now employed by the State here. Increase that and that's more dependent people.
Remember, at one time, which I can just remember, there was no speed limit outside built up areas.
Anti Terrorism Act could be a total catch all, where the Home Secretary of the day, of any party, could decide who is a "terrorist". You for objecting to a "black box" in your car.

Yes, we have to make more people aware. I have posted on my Northloop forum (see www.northloop.co.uk) and asked people to join the ABD.
If you care, join the ABD. Perhaps with more members, they will be able to make a difference! I bloody hope so.
Post this on all forums. We MUST stop this.

I remember a few years back when many hauliers started getting their trucks registered and taxed in Holland to avoid the ridiculous (£1000's) road tax for trucks in this country. Just wondering if it is feasible to do the same with personal cars. Register your vehicle abroad, avoid the need for road tax in this country and 2 fingers to all the ISA stuff.
