ok, so finished a few books since my last post,

Colin Iggulden - Wolf of the Plains - The story of Ghengis Khan - excellent. Really like reading his stuff, I have read his entire Empire (Ceasar) series, top drawer.

Just finished 'The Raw Shark Texts' mmmmmmmm weird. About a guy being chased by a Conceptual Shark that swims through the interconnection between peoples thoughts and memories. Chasing the main character to try and eat all his memories.

Anyone else read it? Would like some opinions on it.

Grace and Grit by Ken Wilber - a true story of love and death. A must if someone close to you has a serious or terminal illness. An amazing and inspirational book.

I've cooked a couple of the dishes from this book (only £3!) and they come as close as anything to what I've eaten in an Indian restaurant both in texture and flavour!

Reading now the Soul Drinkers Omibus. The Soul Drinkers are a chapter of Space Marine (3m tall super human warriors) who have turned their back on the imperium they once served and denied the forces of Chaos from controlling them. So basically have absolutely no friends and a galaxy of enemies to choose from. Their leader is half human half spider

You won't be disappointed, they are spot on. Bet you copy of the next Ghengis book that you will read the entire Emperor series in less than a month

Just read "The Illiad" by Homer. Very heavy going, an absolute labour to finish it. I would advise you not to try this one unless you have a burning desire to read it.

Now reading "The Bear and the Dragon" by Tom Clancy. So far, so good but a bit on the slow side.

Hail -hail : you are safe, I'm on book three and it's take more than a month to get this far with interruptions. BUT I am enjoying every word. "The Emperor" Series is brilliant, Conn Iggulden will remain a favourite author for me. Thanks.

No updatesd on this thread for a while so here goes.....

I have recently been reading all the Lee Child - Jack Reacher books, easy to read and quite satisfying. Can generally get though about 1 a week, think I have read about 9 so far!!! Jack Reacher - the ultimate 'do not mess with me character'

Finished James Patterson - Cradle and All - pish.

Any more recomendations from anyone, Milamber, you still about?

Apparition, you must be finished the Emperor Series by now, good eh! Lords of the Bow (Conqueror 2) due out in Jan, Amazon taking pre orders now.

Funnily enough I've just finished Die Trying, I only picked it up because it was the only thing that grabbed my interest at the airport I'll definitely be looking out for the other

I think I'll be having a look at the Bourne Trilogy next, now i've seen the filums

One I recommend you don't bother with is Ricky Tomlinson's Football My **** Most of the anecdotes have been told by others (far better) before, and the few I hadn't heard previously were definitely in the 'You had to be there' category

Read them recently. They read in a fairly dated way - remember, the first one is set back in the 60s and the second film was similar in name only to the book. Don't let this put you off - they are still great books in their own right

I've been working my way through Murakami after a recommendation on here. Love him to be honest.

I'd certainly suggest giving Trudi Canavan a try. She's a relatively new author from New Zealand. Written 2 trilogies so far.

Hail Hail...yep finished all the Emperor series now, and have Lords of the Bow on request with Amazon. Excellent books and truly riveting . Just finished the latest Clive Cussler, Skeleton Coast. He's not that clever but is ok for a mindless read. Am currently reading Maeve Binchey's 'This Year it will be different'. Great mix of short stories, your Mum would love it for Crimbo !

ok, just got the Black Magician trilogy by Trudi Canavan and also the two Dexter books by Jeff Lindsay, loved the TV show and so want to give the books a try.
Should keep me going for a while.
