Just finished reading all of the "Inspector Frost" books. Pretty good, and a fair bit darker than the TV show, both in subject matter and the depiction of Jack.
Also read The Children Of Men, I had seen the film which was OK and wanted to see what the book was like, and os is usual, turned out to be better in most respects.
Currently munching my way through Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I've seen the TV series and the current film but never actually read the book. I'll probably finish off the Karla trilogy and then go back to the earlier smiley novels and see what they are like.

I've read a couple of Andy Mcnab's books and I've just finished the last one in the millennium trilogy, I really enjoyed them
I may go back and read some more of Mcnab's
I would appreciate any recommendations

Anyone read anything interesting lately?
I have been trying to finish off the Void trilogy for about a year now but the last book is quite frankly awful and has taken me months as I just read a few pages and realise its terrible but feel as though I should finish it.
Just read a very short story by Alastair Reynolds called the Sleepover. Thought it was fantastic, I just wish there was more.
I'm also finding the QI range of books very interesting lately.

Been a busy bit of reading over the past few months:
Started off on a dystopian theme, read Fahrenheit 451, 1984, and A Clockwork Orange. Need to watch / re-watch the films too
I then went on to Jeff Noon's latest, Channel SK1N, which is rather good and then moved to Pixel Juice, and re-read, Vurt (one of my all time faves, now in eBook form), Pollen, and Automated Alice. I'm waiting for Nyphomation to make it to eBook form and I'll read that too.
I saw the trailer for Cloud Atlas, and found it interesting so read the book, and it's pretty good.
Went on a bit of an Iain (M) Banks kick. Starting with the Hydrogen Sonata (very good), then The Bridge (very good), A Song Of Stone (wasn't too keen), Whit (enjoyed it), re-read Inversions (better the second time round), and also onto Dead Air and finally The Business, both as good as when I first read them.
Last week saw me finishing up the first book of the Narnia series; The Magician's Nephew. I had seen some of the film adaptation of The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe over the holiday period and recalled the first book explained how Narnia was formed, so thought I'd have a read. Not too bad.
Finally I'm in the middle of The Long Earth by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter. I'm a fan of TP's work (got Dodger sitting waiting to be read) and this is an interesting novel, and it's planned to be a series of two books.
