Chris as you use roller speed you then enter the correct rpm for each car dependant on its gearing? Couple of pepe's I spoke to said that their cars were run in different gears back to back with no callibration changes yet the bhp figs were similar, how would that work ?

Interested as I spent a few hours on the G Force dyno recently testing my Sti5.

cheers

Bob (sounds like a good setup you have)

Hi Bob,

The software in the system is designed for bhp figures - originally atw, but we have good correlation with flywheel figures for the scoobs. As the system determines the bhp figures, then calculates backwards to determine flywheel figs - you can simply do a run graphed against MPH and the bhp figs are the same.

The 3rd and 4th gear runs were just to show people that we get the same figures (within 1%) when running in either gear - because people always ask why we use 3rd instead of 4th. I'm not entirely sure how the system determines flywheel bhp figures on a MPH run - but the numbers have proven to be quite accurate. The graphs of the two runs were printed on the same page against MPH.

All the cars were run up in the gear they were going to be tested in before we did the power run - to ensure the rpm readings were accurate.

Shame you didn't call Marklemac, its very unusual for us to ignore emails for future reference. I hope you're happy with the results.

Cheers,

Chris
