Hurt Bird
OK it's dead now, so I can say that technically crows are vermin and will probably be shot by the nearest farmer or airgun enthusiast. Its demise has not hastened the end of a great songbird species etc unlike, say, <insert rare British songbird here>. Relax, you'll forget about it tomorrow.
We don't know it was a cat though, or do we? It could have been a hard pheasant or a weasel or a stoat or a cunning badger.
Lyn, you wouldn't feel so charitable if you see what crows usually eat. I stood and watched in amazement once as a single crow perched on the edge of a songbirds nest and wolfed down 5 or 6 baby chicks one after another.
It was amazing, sort of like how a pelican eats a fish, it just picked each one up, flicked its head back and gulped it down in one go.
They do that to any nests they find. Horrible creatures crows.
Next time stamp on its head.

ajm, rarely do you sound like a complete ranting idiot, but then I guess there's a first time for everything. No one knows how it became injured, and lets face it, your shooting buddies probably blast them to bits for fun anyhow

If it's good enough for American soldiers, it must be good enough for crows?

lol well thats different u see and it has to be a very sharp one, the blunt ones are cruel, wouldnt even use them on my enemies, a war killing has to be least painful and quick, in my book anyway. their human beings, u dont want them enemies to suffer
I can't believe you put dettol on it's feet..
You'll be feeding horses some "lovelly yellow flowers" that you saw by the roadside "cos they looked tasty and the horses looked hungry" next..

Ah yes I forgot that amoungst all the crowing at each other.
For future reference i've found this http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:L...rt+birds&hl=en which may well save the lives of other birds you come across.
I'm not surprised it died. The pain inflicted on it, even by diluted dettol would have sent it's poor system into shock.
