So not only are Scoobs slower than diesels sometimes, they can't even keep up with a Lupo in the twisties ffs.
So your saying that he overtook you then couldn't keep up in the twisties......so how come he was behind you again ?

It was twisties that led to a straight. Not straights. Sorry, I was getting over excited remembering how a scoob couldn't do a Lupo in the twisties, my mistake.

Good job I wasn't driving a diesel, he wouldn't have even been able to make up anything on the straights either

maybe if my old man was driving , i'll tell you what cracks me up about this thread is that all the oil burning freaks PRESUME that every time they come up against a scooby the driver wants to drive fast !! we don't all drive round like an ambulance !! but when we want to well

I had a lupo for about a year. It was very good at throwing into the bends. However too many bends and hard use of the brakes would very quickly overheat the disks and lead to vibrations through the steering.

Me thinks the said chav impreza guy did not know how to drive or was not trying.

I went in a new BMW X5 the other night 3.0D and the guy launched it and I have to say the car has got some grunt. I was suprised it accelerated such a weight away so easily.

Put the new 3.5 twin turbo? (have I got that right) in a 3 series and that would be fun or what about the 1 series (looks a bit $hit though).

Oh please you lot, this is pointless!! All this posturing is frankly pathetic for people who are old enough to own such nice cars. I'm way too mature for it!

Besides, me maxed out Nova will do the lot of ya!!

Once you go chav, you never go back, aight?

If you are a driver you have the car your driving in the right gear for what you want the car to do. So if its a deiselllll leave it in top if its a scooby get it in 3rd and enjoy

i remember being scorched at some lights once by a very sexy looking lady in a golf tdi, i was very suprised !!
this was back in the days when i owned a classic scoob modded to about 280bhp.
i should add though that she did have some tight fitting leather sporty drivers gloves on and i was bareback!!!
