Yes it is, they only list the 2mb as not yet available, my IT guy has been using it for a year now with no problems. So far.

Another fan of PlusNet here.
I'm a very low quantity user, in that I don't download music, films etc. so I'm on the 'lite' 1Mb download speed package (soon to be called Broadband Pay-As-You-Go") which includes 1Gb downloads per month, with extra Gb charged at £1.75 each. I use it for web surfing (every day), email (every day) and VPN to the office (2-3 times per week). I've only ever gone over the limit once, and I had planned to. Come April, I will be able to upgrade my account FREE OF CHARGE to 8Mb download speed (if my line & exchange support it). You can currently get up to 2Mb download speed for the same price. For this I pay the paultry sum of £14.99.
The cheapest "unlimited use" package is £21.99, which is currently the 512K download speed. However, come April, this will also be upgradeable FREE OF CHARGE to the fastest your line can support, so up to 8Mb. The "fair usage" policy on this account is one of the best I've seen:
i) Uploads never included in your 'fair usage limit'.
ii) Downloads between 1am - 8am not included in your 'fair usage limit', so medium-heavy user can schedule their downloads to between these hours.
iii) NEVER automatically get charged extra for exceding the limit
iv) Exceed the limit 2 months in a row without any penalty or usage restriction at all.
The "fair usage" limit on the £21.99 account is 30Gb. You can pay more for higher fair usage limits.
If anybody is interested in switching, you can currently switch to PlusNet free of charge, and if you're not happy with the service, then within 45 days you can switch to a different provider and PlusNet will pay for that switch also.
As a previous poster noted, it's likely that ALL ISPs will introduce fair usage policies if they haven't already. I can't see any policy being fairer than PlusNet's.

So between 1am and 8am you could manage just over 25Gbytes IF you have an 8Mbit connection, and IF you manage to download at that speed for the whole 7 hours.
But I agree...PlusNet are a very good ISP.

All UK local and national calls cost 1p (fixed). Not per minute - just 1p. All Day, every day.

If they have a very cheap line rental then it may be worth doing, if not then it wont.
Tony
Im with pipex, once your 12mth expires your price plan instantly changes to what there price is now, think mine is £19.99 for 512k at the mo
looking on there upgrade bit 2mb is available for £119.00 a quarter inc the dredded thats unlimitd too
or 1mb unlimited is £101.98 a quarter
also if you stay with pipex i dont think you enter into another 12 mth contract no matter what service plan you change to
