In the blue corner, we have the first contender! Weighing in a 195 lbs, thumping the conservative bass drum like theres no tomorrow, we have former rave promoter, Tony Blair hater, UNCLEBUCK!!!!!
But... having been let down soooo badly by New Labour I see the Conservatives as the lesser of two evils. I feel they are our only hope of stopping this country getting thrown permanently to the dogs under NL hence my 'campaign' to promote their return to power.

Do you reckon Pete got so over-excited by this that he's been given a sedative to calm him down / knock him out

Yup, he's as much a nuclear expert as I am.
He also claims to be 78 year old who asks about good fps for his playstation, obviously for those days he cant be arsed fecking about with his wee Radio controlled car or driving his ghey MX5.
They say when you get old you revert back to your childhood, well he's certainly doing that, bless him

It will be quite clear to everyone that Labour will win the Election ..... only the sad and stupid think otherwise.
Why will they win, why should they win? This was lifted from someone else, but says it as well as I could ......
10 THINGS LABOUR HAVE DONE FOR WORKING PEOPLE
1. Employment Relations Act 1999 – brought in new rights for all working people including greater protection against unfair dismissal; new rights for part-time workers on pay, pensions, holidays and benefits, minimum holiday and maximum working time. The ERA also established for the first time the statutory right to trade union recognition.
2. Paid maternity leave has been extended to 26 weeks at an increased rate of pay of £100 a week.
3. 2 weeks paid paternity leave is being introduced from this year.
4. First even National Minimum Wage – £4.20 an hour, benefits 1.3m people, 70% of whom are women and part-time employees. Keir Hardie first started campaigning for a minimum wage in the 1890s.
5. Moving to full employment across the UK. There are 1.5m extra jobs since 1997. Unemployment is at its lowest rate since 1975.
6. Tackled long term youth unemployment. 390,000 young people into work through New Deal. Long term youth unemployment reduced by three quarters since 1997.
7. Lab Govt now committed to massive programme of investment in public services, especially NHS and education. Spending on public services will grow by £61bn over the next 3 years.
8. There are 200,000 more public sector workers since 1997.
9. Public sector pay is rising significantly faster than private sector pay for the first time in more than a decade.
10. The 2002 Spending Review more than doubled childcare funding to ensure that by 2006 at least an additional 250,000 childcare places are created.
There is much more, of course ..... but thats for later
Pete

And yes, I speak from first hand experience of the system after being made redundant last year. Still, at least all my years in employment and not screwing the system counted for me getting 6 months unemployment benefit. I guess I should have done what everyone else does and jumped over to incapacity benefit rather than getting off my **** and finding myself another job
Sorry UB, didn't mean to climb into the ring and attack your opponent with your corner's chair

There are as many people out of work as there always have been, probably more, but as with any statistics, manipulate them and use vague wording to make the sound really good.
