Let me get this right, it took 2 minutes for your mother to get out of the car, go into the shop, get served and get back to the car. Very efficient service by the shop I would say.

Again, why is your sister exempt from rules? She can't just make them up as she goes along to suit her.
As I said, lazy scum with no legs. Can she not walk?

It really is incredible how people can get animated to the point of calling each other's relatives "scum" over the fact that someone stopped on a yellow line for two minutes.
1) Yes she was technically in the wrong - the SN self righteous are correct
2) Yes many parking attendents are officious, petty jobsworths who havn't grasped the concept of using discretion on a case-by-case basis - suprabeast is also correct
ajm has spoken.

I call them 'scum' because they think they are entitled to flout the laws, yet moan like f**k when they get caught. Same goes for those who park in disabled spaces yet aren't disabled.
Ignorant peasants.
...and you have the cheek to criticise parking wardens just doing their job?

Regardless of the rights or wrongs, this traffic warden was over zealous. It (wardens don't qualify as people) should have asked your sister to move on, rather than sneakily take a photo etc.
I parked on a single yellow while unloading a few years ago in Westminster (the worst district in the UK for parking restrictions/fines etc) and a warden let me continue to unload "as long as you are gone in 5 minutes".

yeah but its not the traffic wardens fault, Im sure he feels like hes being nasty etc but alot of them are forced to use these ways now since the councils have been saying if you dont catch x amount of people you aint hitting targets and theyre fired....
its a job and someone has to do it

Think the key phrase there is "continue to unload". Suprabeast's sister was sat in a car. No loading going on. I guess that's why the warden issued the ticket.
You don't know how long the warden had spent walking up to the car in the first place, watching to see if there was any loading / unloading.

Furthermore, they have developed a way, using digital cameras etc, to ensure they get people before they have a chance to move on. Revenue generation from the motorist - this is the way forward!

I Think your allowed 2 minutes even on a double yellow - but youve got to be loading ( notice in the shop window and someone with the car )..........but once the guys put you into the machine ..and pressed the tit ..............thats it done!...

I park on double yellows all the time when I'm working(delivery driver)as there are some roads where there is literally nowhere to park but on them.I am actually loading though and have never had a ticket for it in nearly 8 years.
I did get one for parking in a pedestrianised town centre though.I was delivering to one of the shops and didn't see the timed exclusions and wrongly assumed that because a P.O.van was parked it was ok for me to.That got me a summons resulting in a £50 fine and £35 costs. They didn't give a toss that I'd not seen the sign and P.O. vans can park pretty much where they like apparently.
