And let's not forget all the funding that's required for benefit fraudsters, speed camera vans, GATSOs and parking enforcement contracts for foreign companies!

I'll ask you if you don't think it would have been more honest to simply say, "We need to invest more in public services and the money has to come from somewhere so we'll increase Income Tax and VAT", rather than "We won't increase taxes" then impose 66 stealth taxes such as grabbing so much from pension funds that it makes (ex-Labour MP) Robert Maxwell look like an amateur, and hope that the populace are too stupid to notice?
The effect of robbing money from pension funds is to reduce people's incomes in retirement making it more likely that they will rely on State benefits. How will these benefits be funded? Where will the then Government raise the money?
Rob pension funds making more people dependent on benefits or leave the pension funds alone so people can be self-sufficient in retirement. Which is better?

That doesn't really answer the lack of response to post #94, Pete.
Taking money from pension funds? Good/Bad?
Hoping that people won't notice that they are getting stung by Tony/Gordon in 66 different ways? Good/Bad?
What do you think of taxing pension funds to such an extent that people might not be self sufficient?

I think that most people who took their pension in the 70's should be in good shape (financially - who cares if you **** in your pants when you have loads of money)
