That was what I thought too - until my MY00/PPP suffered an unexplained big end failure at 61k miles. Sometimes they do just fail

143K on MY95 4Dr. I've had it 6 years in which time it's had a new clutch, new discs & pads, tyres, a rocker cover gasket, a pair of suspension linkages & a couple of oil seals....that's about it other than (mainly DIY) servicing. Needs the rocker cover gaskets doing again really..& the coil packs are cracking (but patched up for now..).
Just did 160 miles redlining on a trackday with no ill effects other than a new set of front discs (which were well on their way anyway!). Touch wood, it's got a few more years left in it yet..

err- 140K on my uk98 Turbo - 270bhp last Jan (2004) - 320 since december 2004 -

HOWEVER - I've blown up 2 gearboxes since Christmas - 300lbs/ft is obviously too much for them (both went overtaking in third).....

and now ...... I'm going to strip it for parts and sell up - I can't afford to keep it and replace the box for something that doesn't strip 3rd every 2 months.....

i am on 101400 on my MY93 WRX, still going strong. Just likes its fuel and high servicing costs.

Other than that i love it.

I have been trying to sell my Classic UK Turbo (MY'00) with 116K mile for weeks and no one will touch it because of the mileage. I have only been asking £5750 for an otherwise immaculate car but know one is prepared to take on a high mileage example unless you give it away. In my opinion people put too much emphasis on the mileage of these cars over the history and type of driving they’ve been subjected to. My car is completely standard with the exception of a Magnex rear silencer, has a full Subaru service history and it drives like a car with less than half the mileage. To be honest trying to sell this car has been nothing but a headache, I have had countless time wasting ***** insulting me over the phone with stupidly low offers, remarking on the high mileage, lack of Air Con and how the values of these cars have fallen in the last 6 months. I have taken this advice and decided to hold on to a brilliant car. Anyone know of a Air conditioning Kit for sale, I’m interested…
