If we step outside of the "Am I a racist" thing, my take on your thread is that you feel that somehow you have been hard done by in your very short life, and that your woes should be placed squarely at the door of people who are ethnically different from you but whom you describe as friends.
Surely at 17 you should be reaching out to carve out your place in the world, irrespective of who is around you and what they have achieved. The success or failure of your coming life is entirely in your hands and if anyone tells you any different then kick their ***** in!
At the end of the day infantile jealousy of Arab Sheiks with money, Black Fiends with bigger dicks than yours, etc, is not going to sort out your fundamental problem which is, IMO, that you are rolling over and abdicating your responsibility for defining your own destiny, and blaming that on somebody else.
No offence meant but you come across as a complete and crass fool.
I beg you, get to grips with your life before its too late. Forget the others, your life is about you.

I have no racist views and would gladly treat any colour/race of person with the same respect as i expect to receive myself.
If the person talks to me like a d*ick head / Acts like a d*ick head, then they probably are and i dont bother mixing with people like this, be it white, black, asian etc.
I used to be mildly racist as i had been to the summer fair in Bradford with my girlfriend and was promptly beaten up by a group of 7 asians chav's for absolutley no reason whatsoever.
Because of this it made me think of all asians as 'scum'.
Before this i had no racist views whatsoever.
When sitting down and actually thinking about it though, it could have been a group of white chavs that beat me up, it just so happend the area i was in was predominantly asian.
So after thinking about it for a while i realised how daft i was being by grouping all asians as the same as the asian kno*s who beat me up.
At the end of the day, where ever you go in the world you will find people who have chips on their shoulders, attitude problems, think you owe them something etc, Be it White, asians, black or chinese.

Need to correct you on the ball issue. Firstly its usually called an Asian SOCIETY ball NOT Asian ball or brown ball. Asian Societies were formed in

With respect there's no point fighting over this MOBO/Asian Ball/White /Black thing because it clouds some fundamental issues (besides I have yet to meet anyone on Scoobynet who has climbed down from their lofty position on any issue!
)
The truth of the matter is that for as long as we feel that a person's colour/non colour is inferior/superior to our own (tick whatever box you like), or has to be a significant factor in our assessment of how we value each other, while we fail to recognise the strength and richness of diversity which has seen the human race survive pretty well up till now, we will continue to hack away at each other, probably until the end of time.
My life has been wholly enriched by the shedloads of people of all races, creeds, vocations, aspirations that I have met and I would not have it any other way.
Its sad that some of us can't or won't see that and, for me, that means that the lessons of spectacular human disasters like Auschwitz have not, and may never be learned.
Just my pennysworth.

I think that m111usy in post #100 has shown what the real issue is. It is poverty, as poverty can strike regardless of ethnicity. The one thing about poverty is that it is not a constant and permanent state of being in the UK, like people use to think it was in the past. There is one method to beat poverty in the UK and ironicly it has been used to show division in this thread. Education enables all regardless of where they come from to lift themselves out of poverty or Chavness for want of a better expression. You have to give people time to assimilate into UK culture. As if they are not of a homogenous white European descent they will stand out in a predominately and historically 'white' country for longer than say a 2nd or 3rd generation Polish or French imigrant would to a man on the street. One thing I would say though is this. My ancestors came to the UK as it's population held similer religious beliefs and values to my forefathers. It mystifies me as to why someone of a different religious background would want to come to the UK unless it was for material gain. Myself I would go to somewhere that had a similer belief and values system to my own, unless of course I was willing to assimilate into the mainstream cultural identity of my new country of choice. I would think of myself as rude and arrogant beyond belief to expect my new home to change to suit me without me myself also being willing to change to suit it.

Not that anyone is interested but I finished my 1500 words at 3pm today after a night of no sleep thanks to several cans of redbull seeing me through the pain of writing on a subject I knew and still know nothing about! an d now I am typing gibber ish as I am so knackered. My bed is calling-calling me to sleep for a hundred years...
