No - couldnt make it as had engine problems - told Rich though!!
Turbo not working - but I think I've knackered the head gasket as:
1. wires for Radiator fans burnt out I think - fans dont seem to be working
2. Resulted in Boiling collant out of expansion area
3. Resulted maybe in Turbo probs
Having a Hydrocarbon test next week and a water pressure test
Hopefully everything isn't knackered as I dont want the expense of having an engine strip down!!
That'll teach me not to move the wires near the wrapped exhaust headers!!
I should have known something was wrong when I only got 348lbs torque at PE the other week (443bhp) - seemed ok - but probably was going at that stage!

Ah, ok Steve, I thought it odd that an EVO had the best run if your car was running !

Yeah - I know - I got 403bhp last time I went with a VF22 Hybrid (MD195)
td05/06 would have been much better!! than this - much faster on the road
and the Garrett GT30 was much better still.......

I got 363 / 325 lbft ( with wheels slipping I am told! ) last wel lane of 2004, with a TD05 and PFC/headers/STiV TMIC / 550's etc. etc.
So if you don't need the TD05/06 anymore.... I can find it a home for nothing!!

Alans car is completely different with the 05/06 on. when i drove it with the td05 on, i said to alan that it was no way 370bhp car, as my 350ish was far quicker. driving with the 05/06 on it felt quicker than my car, and i guessed at around 360 to 380 bhp.

Steven, there goes a cheap turbo upgrade then!
Yeah, I would expect the 05/06 to do the business as it pushes more air - during my mapping my MAF maxxed out at 5900 rpm, seems alan's maxxed out at 4500 rpm.. hence lots more air earlier down for him and so more torque and power there than me.
Funny things these rolling roads...!
Neil
PS Steve - mine makes 1 bar just under 3000, but max boost only by 3500 rpm ( 24 psi .. erm 1.65 bar ?? )

steve, i fitted the 6 speed for alan, and the first time i drove it was from alans to mine, with the 5 speed in, then on test with the 6 speed in, both runs on the TD05.
i have since driven it twice with the 05/06 on, and it is an amazing setup IMO, hence why i was interested in it at the weekend.
Neil, oops, sorry scuppered your plans there

See ya ( shame I missed you and the redoubtable Mr. Wallis on Sunday, I dropped out and didn't make it! other things came up, not car problems!!! )
