So the B-Spec mode isn't a totally seperate game mode? I got the impression there was Arcade Mode, GT Mode & B-Spec Mode - but likely not. Am I right in thinking the both A & B Spec's are both part of the GT mode, only it's a choice of who does the race - You or the Computer?

As I thought, I was under the impression was a new mode.
Sounds like a decent additon, Some of the Endurance races in GT3 got a bit boring - I ended up giving the other cars a couple of laps head start when doing the Tokyo R246 race.

Am I missing something? I thought the whole point of GT4 was that it would include online play? I was disappointed with GT3 as it was just the previous ones re-vamped slightly.
I have both a PS2 (loving SanAndreas) and an X Box (Proj Goth 2 is ace, struggling to see why Halo2 is worth playing online) and can't see how PS2 graphics, no matter what they've done, can justify the same old GT gameplay.
Someone convince me I'm wrong - I loved the early GT's as they were different - now they look (and feel) dated......

no, but the same was said about GT3.
I'm struggling to see how the PS2 can really deliver THAT much better graphics, therefore there would have to be something pretty stunning about the gameplay to get me interested, especially if it's not got on-line play. i.e. is it more fun to play than Project Gotham?

Graphics arent anything Revolutionary but gameplay is much better than Project Gotham. Was never really a fan of that anyway. Tracks have all been tidied up with gradients and cambers now. You ll see soon.
Grant,
If I was ignorant I would tell you to F off!!!
The menu's are not that bad to navigate through.
Gregjd,
Yes it will run in hi-def mode as long as you have a component cable running through to a Hi-Def compatiable TV..... even on a UK PS2.
Gordo,
It is easily the best graphical piece of stoftware available on the PS2..... after running with the XBOX for several months, even I was surprised at the quality.
Regards,
Shaun.

Sorry Shaun.
I was getting more and more eager as i knew the game was on its way. When it arrived it wouldn't load on my machine so i borrowed my neighbours machine and it worked first time.
The game is another level up from GT3 and then some.
One of the license tests has you complete the Nurburgring in a Merc 190e 2.5 Cosworth following a pace car,

. The sense of speed with the tyre noise and the wind noise increasing with the speed is so real feeling. The noise from the cars is spot on with the TVR being my favourite so far. The graphics run at an astonishing rate considering the spec of the machine i.e the Toyota Lemans car travelling at 240mph along the back straight at LeSarthe is just stunning.
First car i bought was a Toyote Corrolla 1.6 FR with 79000kms on the clock. It started off at 130ps and now sits at 230hp with HKS twin plate clutch, 2 way diff, and one or two engine mods. Soon found out how to turn off the Traction Control and the Stability Control,

While browsing the used car lot i spotted the one. A red STI version 2 with gold alloys and a pink badge. Identical to mine AAAAAAHHHHHHH.
Trouble was i only had 450.000 credits and was for sale at 900.000 credits so i thought i would do a few more races and come back and purchase it. A hour later i went back to the used car lot and it was gone

GT4 is definetly the new king in racing games, PGR2 has had its day im afraid.

The game cost me about £45 delivered from Japan and took about a week to get here.
I probably wont bother with the UK release as the Jap version is accessible enough with GTPlanet filling in the bits that are not translated.

Most retailers are still saying 25th Feb, although GAME are saying "TBC". If the release stays as end of Feb then I'll hold off, if it's a bit later than that I'll be going for a chip, and I might as well got MGS3 from the states while I'm at it!
DazV,
No other versions available other than the original ones. I am aware that the original has been backed-up and ripped but that was still over 5gb, and I am not aware whether or not the PS2 will read Dual Layer DVD+R's

I think not
