WANT STI,
Get over to Pease Pottage services at 12 today!!!!!

West Sussex Scooby meet!!

Ask anyone there for me and I will be quite happy to talk you through the ins and outs
Might even know of a WRX that might fit the bill

Have you driven an Impreza yet?
An M reg WRX with average miles can be had for £4K this will be 240bhp but for another £1K you could see 280-300 bhp (with the right mods)

ST208 ?, the Gen 6 GT4 was an ST205 ?

A nice GT4 is a great car, the engines are very good and they are nice to drive. I've got a blobeye STi and a GT4. The STi would demolish the GT4 but I still really enjoy driving it.

WANT STi

Hope you live near a Shell garage as it will need to be fed Optimax only and possibly octane booster on top. Otherwise you will be risking the health of the engine, but then you may already know this as it might be the same for the Toyota I don't know.

They're normally about once a month. Keep an eye out in the Southern forum on here, the date is normally set a week or 2 before the meet.

There is an East Sussex one on the 15th if you didn't mind a bit of a drive. Again details and map are in the southern forum.

Some people on here (including me) don't like whats happening to these cars, a lot of them are falling into chav hands now. So when someone comes on here saying that they want one and write in text message form (no offence), members tend to think that you are a chav.

Hope it hasn't put you off buying the car anyway. Best of luck.

want sti

the sti's have 276bhp give or take on conditions same as the ra but as stated before there alot lighter and have the closer ratio g/box and other different parts to them. the sti's also have better internals than the uk turbo so can cope with more power before you need to change the internals, having said that uk's can handle 330bhp comftably all subarus have there plus points but you would need the sti or ra to start near the 300 mark

i do alot of typing, i am a systems integration manager therefore i type quickly on MSN, my whole company comunicates though MSN, and hence the short hand just a bad habbit i suppose! and texting people is the other thing.
but as i said i have a GT4 so i am in the turbo rally cars already.
i always thought the STI would be a better choice as the japs have it running a higher bhp when they sell it, so internals must be more robust.

however i have always wanted a close ratio gear box, and on a scooby mmmm very nice.
weight is always an issue with performance but i do like the car to look good, that Chris bloke has a stunning scooby, want one that looks like that!! i can hold this till summer and maybe get a better/newer model i suppose.. but want one quickly (you know how it is!!)

STi type RA's aren't too easy to come by mate, I've heard the importers have had to stop bringing them in now (someone better informed may be able to clarify that) so existing cars in this country will slowly start to dwindle as they get damaged, written off etc.

I'd have loved one myself but my nearest source of Optimax is about twenty miles away, so not a practical option for me.

Happy hunting anyway, hope you find a good 'un.

There have been no end of threads on here about which is the best fuel to use. The most vocal people will tell you that you must use Optimax and an OB if the car is an import that hasn't been remapped for UK fuel.

This will help you find the Shell garages!

if you get a Dastek uni chip or a ecu,it can be re-programmed to run on normal fuel, you say 300bhp,that at the wheels or flywheel?

i dont know the difference! i can guess power at flywheel is engine, and wheels would mean more power at flywheel to produce 300 at wheels?!!
i dont know much have had my gt4 for 2 months and only gtis before that!!!

I'm pretty sure that most scoobys only loose about 40bhp from the flywheel, which is really good for a 4wd,so for about 300 bhp at the wheels you'd need about 340bhp at the flywheel, which for an sti 97+ (280 bhp standard) youd need an exhaust system, induction kit (k&n doesnt muck up the airflow meter) and either a de cat or SLIGHT increase in the boost

ok but can only afford about 5k, which is nothing for a performance, but till i gain my experience, and get same position with another company this is all i can get!
so it will have to be a 95 or 96 if really lucky.. if i get EXTREEMLY lucky, otherwise the 94!!
