Ok I need one for my classic so I can get rid of my poo standard downpipe & cat!!

Its a MY98, and it needs to mate to a 3" Blitz Nur Spec R System.

I dont know exactly which downpipe size/style would give me biggest power gains and would I get more power out of a 3" downpipe, or from a 2.5" downpipe??

Will the 3" downpipe be a fair bit louder than 2.5"??

As you can tell, I'm not too sure about a few things!!!

I really need this ASAP, if possible..... BEFORE the weekend as I'd like to have it fitted on Saturday!!

Cheers,
Grant

We have a big list now so if you want to start ringing up with your details we can get the ball rolling, between 9 and 3.30 would be ideal as Sharon and Dawn can take your details.
Speedstermick a standard de-cat down pipe will fit your magnex centre pipe.

Thank you

Ian

RS, the open neck seems to be favoured slightly over twin-dump, power wise
if your Blitz is 3" at the centre/downpipe connection, then you should go for 3" straight thru downpipe, ( i have no idea if u can get 2nhalf to 3" converter, i spose u can).
The decat downpipe will be noisier than catted. But the 3" compared to 2nhalf ...errmmm no idea.

Ian..........ok will call tomorrow

No it's not to late, when you ring up to can you please state weather you want the down pipe to fit the standard spring joint or a flat 3" flange.

Thank you

P.S. the early you ring the more chance you have of getting it for the weekend.

spoke this afternoon Ian,
Im slightly confused by the flexi section in 3" centre pipe....
I need a downpipe 3" open necked, no worries there.
Were I to get a 3" straight through centre would it need the flexi?
I say that because the current system I have has no such thing, just two flanged connections that bolt together.
With this I would be able to experiment with silencers to acheive neighbour friwendly noise levels.
does this make sense or is my ignorance showing through
Andy

This is my understanding of it, if Im way off, I apologise in advance
First of all, are you thinking of buying a 3" straight thru dp and a 3" straight thru centre?
If you are, are you trying to say you dont think you will be able to interchange the back box because, instead of the sprung flanged connection (i think thats right), that you currently have, you will have a flexi joint (I think this is just at the dp end)?
AFAIK, where the centre joins with the backbox, its just a normal connection and you would be able to try other 3" bore backboxes.

almost
If I were to buy a 3" dp and centre, why would I need a flexi joint in the centre, wouldnt it be easier to just have flanged (at both ends of the centre and the appropriate end of the downpipe) connections and straight through?
ready to take my own backbox.

Ian was very helpfull but forgot to ask before work beckoned

I dont know the answer tbh, all I can think is its something to do with the design IE, with a full 3" system, the flange joints may be to big, so they knock or rub on the bodywork? I did wonder about this when I spoke to Ian, but I just thought, well, if that's what it needs, Im sure he knows what he's talking about

It may be worth another call to Ian LOL

The down pipe to centre pipe is still flanged bit we put a heavy duty converluted (i think thats how you spell it ) flexi joint in the centre to take up any engine movement .This is done because you have removed the sprung load joint that is designed to take up any engine movement.
I hope this makes sense , if you don't want the flexi joint then let me know ASAP.
