Not sure, we didn't stay for the awards. Roger Clarks gobstopper was quick as f.ukc until that broke, plus loads others.

Looked great in the flesh too.

Hi Guys. Well looks like TOTB was a great weekend, Liz and Myself spent the weekend at Muirkirk in the Scottish Forrests Rallying our Impreza, it was Liz third event and was the first time we had the car mapped with a GEMS, before people start shooting the GEMS board down, they are all wrong about them, its not the board its the mapper that causes problems, The rally car got mapped by Dave Bell at Autolink in newcastle and this guy is a true hero,

Dave and myself were mapping the car till 3am and it paid off, we were running a standard road engine, gearbox, 2 pot brakes and 15" nobblies and we were only 3 seconds off the stage time of a Group A Evo 3 with 18"wheels and F2 Pirelli tyres. His car cost £40000 ours has cost in total £8000. The Impreza now pulls cleanly from 1200rpm in 5th gear and goes like an absolute train, Dave also reckons with a bit more mapping we can get it to run even better.

Mind saying that GEMS dont cause problems isnt exactly true they did manage to supply three map sensors that failed from new and we had to hard wire a sti map sensor to make the car work, If everything had gone well on the event we would of technically finished 7th overall and third or fourth in class. We eventually finished 18th and 7th overall. best result so far, but alot more to come.

Hi John,

Well done for those excellent results. Liz must be a hell of a driver.

No RR days planned as most of us went to TEG earlier in the year.

Cheers

Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the congratulations and she is a really good driver, but even better navigator perhaps thats why we got married on 24th of June this year and do you all know we have two kids now a boy and a girl Lucy is 5years old and Robert is 9 months, they too are excellent service crew.

Hope we can get a RR day sorted soon as I miss not convoying it down and running the tunnels just before the M62.

replacement front wing painted tonight, standard rear spoiler and rear bumper also painted, came out very well, shade of paint looks good as well

think i have around 2 litres left to finish off the rest of the car, had to rip the rear splash guards and "cut" the rear spats off the back bumper, bolts and clips had all rusted up

not sure how the spats will fit back on now TBH

removed the rear bumper and expected lots of rust, found a few little 1p sized patches, scraped them away to find silver metal, put some kurust on them anyway and covered over, actually really surprised about that, rear bumper bar was not even that bad either and they rot like buggery

reminds me to pick up some beer on the way home

replacement front wing fitted today

pics to arrive when i get home, all lined up without a problem, which is nice considering the crash i did although i have discoverd that the sti ra front wings do not have the hole and clip at the bottom of them (underneath the skirt) for the last skirt mounting bolt/splash gaurd/bolt/bracket, so everybody saying that sti ra wings are lighter are WRONG

they are actually heavier due to not having a hole in them

your old bootlid is getting a coat of white tomorrow morning (going in early sorted the scratches today)
only doing the under side with some cheap paint, at night i will stop back and spray the outside and the rear bumper spats the correct colour

email confirmed that my next batch of subaru paint will be deliverd tomorrow

do you want your bootlock kept incase you need it?

took the rest of the stickers off the sides today, and put the sti badge back onto the new wing
