Yep its appaling I struggled through it when I saw it hoping it would improve, has to be one of the worst films of all time. I know its only a film and you need to suspend belief a little but it was just done so badly I didnt find it entertaining! I mean I can suspend belief to watch superman and *still* enjoy that!

Rushed home to watch this and I missed the first ten minutes. As soon as I come through the door my dad shouted 'there's a good film on here that you will like'.<------------ er no! **** off! (that's havin seen it of course)
It's is utter $hite, I can't believe people buy this on DVD off the shelves for what £15.99? I am suprised it hasn't caused street riots peddling us $hite like this
Reading these posts about the second one. You have to be havin a laf? It cannot be as bad as that? Now I have to watch the fookin thing to confirm this and then be pi$$ed off cos I wasted 2 hours of my time.
Bring back films such as Bullitt and Vanishing Point. Fast cars without looking like someone's took a pi$$ up the side of em.
Damian.

I watched it but only 'cos I couldn't reach the Sky Remote to knock it off.
The 2nd one is worse - PMSL @ the scene where the 2 blokes are given the choice of cars - an Evo 7 or some open top thing, Tyrese (?) says "Don't even think about taking the Spider" leaving the ex-cop with the Evo, who, if it had been the real would have said...
"You can have it you f**king hairdresser!"
Laughable plots in both of them, but at least they're entertaining for a couple of hours

Excellent!! - the visuals, the sound, the soundtrack were all absolutely top quality stuff - so the story wasn't original, so the acting wasn't at RSC level - but the fact that all the stunts were real, there was no overlaid engine sounds (you heard what you saw) meant it was studded with quality bits here n there.
Sure, the quarter mile sprints ran for minutes rather than the 10-15secs realtime, but, surely that was the point! - a filmmaker trying to evoke the feel and rush and level of experience inherent in the runs, without having to resort to slomo or throwing the same 10sec sequence at you 4 or 5 times at different angles to fully get the point over ...
Good looking film.
Deny that the time lapse stuff at the start of the film, introducing you to the main character and his car in the deserted sports field or that showing the onset of the evening across those industrial warehouses coupled with the soundtrack at that point, as Vin and his buddies rip up in procession, weren't gorgeous well put together shots?
Or the great sunny visuals of the procession of the modded motors as they pull up outside the Sandwich bar with the soundtrack ripping away, then that chick stepping out of her car as the camera pans up from her boots?!
Or the final quarter mile sprint with the Charger side by side with the Supra, although cheesy, was absolutely pukka - and the barrel rolling of the Charger at the end ... c'mon!?
A cheesy film peppered with quality sequences, gorgeous visuals and perfectly matched soundtrack.

Anybody who likes it is either a moron or under 10 years old. Idiotic film critic in the Mirror the other day gave it four stars.

Oh aye - its actually one of my favourites ... - I actually saw it first at the cinema - so you can imagine what the visual and aural presentation was like - nothing like watching it at home on a telly ...
So, is there anybody that can deny that the idea of an N2O assisted, blown V6 with a vocal zorst and BOV doesn't aurally appeal?

Plot 0/10 - it's thiner than the paper the script was printed on. Acting 0/10 - well, we're definitely not talking Oscar standard - more MDF from B&Q. Driving style 0/10. Cars - 6/10 (although there's NO WAY I'd do up my Scooby like that).
It's definitely a 'switch off, sit there and watch it' movie. Pure Hollywood, so it doesn't have anything in common with reality (see U571).
Having said that, I quite enjoyed it the first time I saw it (after a beer or two). Admittedly I did spend a good deal of the film laughing. It was nowhere near as good as Mad Max/Grand Prix/Vanishing Point/Bullitt/Le Mans though.

I enjoyed the film ergo I am a moron
I'll sit quietly in the corner and dribble a little
As Tony said - naff all plot but then so what? I wasn't expecting much plot and I wasn't expecting oscar winning performances. I was expecting good old yarn with a fast pace and I wasn't disappointed. If you didn't like it then fair play, its a free country now that Blunkett has gone sorry, couldn't resist it!

@tonyg ... hoho ... MadMax - now there's a film stuffed full of story and comprising gargantuan acting performances from the cast ... yet still a classic/ cult film ... go figure ...
Actually I'm playing devils advocate - MadMax is another of my favourites; not many films have featured that many bikes at once nor kept their sound effects original ... (eg 'Paycheck' featuring a 1100cc BMW boxer twin ... that sounded remarkably like a 400cc four FFS!)

Its Point Break on wheels, although i did enjoy Point Break considerably more!
It not the best car film in the world but it has its enjoyable moments, who gives a **** if its not completely accurate/believable, i loved Lord of the Rings and thats not exactly true to life!!

I found the experience very similar to watching **** - I tended to fast forward through the 'talkie' bits and only watched the bits with cars in them.
I found I could only take a couple of scenes before being 'spent' I would then find myself returning to it a few hours later to watch a bit more.
I didn't need any tissue though, apart from that....

LOL! SN reaches a new nadir - someone criticises the cinematic masterpiece that is 'Kill Bill' while elsewhere on the thread people praise the the 'Filmed in Chavavision' piece of celluloid crap that is 'The Fast and The Furious'
tiggers.
