A bit moody today me thinks?

Not defending the guy but all the quotes hes used are from the magazine reviews from around the time the P1 was released. What's implied is that it's the ultimate UK spec impreza, the P1 being fully homologated and type approved for the UK.
The 22B UK was not type approved (all UK versions were SVA'd by Prodrive) so at the time the comments were correct, it was the ultimate impreza available to the UK market (through official channels).
Though to claim it's still the ultimate is clearly wrong, and i'm a P1 owner. It's good, but not the worlds best car.
I still wish Prodrive had left it with lower (more useful) gearing, who really needs a car that'll do 160mph. I'd much rather a 130/140 top end and faster acceleration (not that 4.6 to 60 is slow). Leaving DCCD on would have been a nice touch, as well as STI gadgets like waterspray etc.
So go easy on the guy, he's only re-gurgitating Prodrive sales literature and magazine review quotes.

I can't resist this.....
/Immature head on:
Had a P1 up my **** some time ago on 3 mile stretch of dual carriageway. Eventually he came past me so I decided to put my foot down and have a play. Leaving my car in 5th I reeled him in and passed him. And yes he was going for it as we were both going well over 100. We did this twice from around 80mph onwards. His car looked like it had aftermarket exhaust too.
So, from this I can't prove that my car is superior to a P1 (but IMO it is because I have driven both ) but I can say that mine is quicker in a straight line.
/mature head back on now
Oh dear, I'm as bad as the rest of em!

Agree you Iwan, but this guy has launched a personal attack on me for just enquiring what mods it has to make it the ultimate impreza because the p1, isnt. ( Still bl*&dy fantastic cars though dont get me wrong!)

Could someone please tell me how a guy who spells like that can afford to own/run a P1 ??
I sure as hell would'nt employ him if his CV was anything like the rest of his wording.
Does anyone even know if it exists ?
I seem to remember a story like this with an R34 on ebay, turns out the little idiot didnt even own the thing and had just took a few nice pics of one

A friend of mine is interested in it and the only scoob he has been in is my own. I said to him that the standard p1 engine is very similar if not identical to an standard sti engine. I then emailed the guy and asked what other modifications he had made to make it so much better than an sti. He replied with;
' These motors are quiicker than any sti by miles. stis are a poor mans impreza.'
I then replied with;
'I was under the impression that a p1 and an sti, are very similar, other than the obvious differences in styling and exclusivity?'
Ever since then he has sent me many amusing emails about how pathetic all sti's are. I had to share it with everyone because I couldn't stop laughing!

I asked him some simple questions. If I was a potential buyer I would not appreciate his bullish attitude and arragent remarks.

Difference is, a Type R will rev to redline in top, P1 would run of power (or road) to push the final few revs to the redline.
+ once a P1 hits that sort of speed, a type R would have been there and back already!
Oh dear, I'm getting like the other bloke!
