dave- suggest you start looking at ajdustable suspension.
coilovers perhaps?
that should sort out your 'squat' issues
look at Darley/Wallis/Trout etc and see what suspension setup's they are/were using is my advice. maybe ask on 22b.com

the p1 was origionaly designed to run on 18's, only ended up on 17's because of having to be able to run snow chains.
iv got the 18's fitted to my p1 with eagle f1 225/35-18 and they are far superior to the 17s, however the better tyres would have been part of the difference.
only problem i found was the tyres rubbing slightly, a slightly harsher ride and more expensive tyres when replacing. After a few miles they had worn down enough for it not to rub any more though, still get rubbing with people in the back though.
in my opinion definately go for the 18's

The squatting doesnt bother me. Means i get a better launch and les wheelspin, just grips and goes.
Erm Darley/Trout??????
If your refering to David Wallis then i have spoke to him at scooby clinic a while ago but not sure who the other 2 are

if you get your suspension sorted (which imo, on a 450bhp car it SHOULD be) then it wont squat half as much, and the wheels/tyres/arches wont be as much of a concern. thats what i was getting at.
trout- fastest scoob at Sso this year IIRc (or was it calder? cant remember)
darley- P20spd on here who posted 12.1 in 2003 Sso, and now has a 2.5
common theme- they all have handling/suspension etc sorted BEFORE the big engine went it IIRc.
It's like fitting a 2.5 and using the OE 2pots. madness imo.
just my opinion. and Im sure you'll bollock me on MSN for it
Only thing is when i launch mine the back end really drops and grips. Been told that once the exhaust hit the floor
So im a bit worried about the wheels going into the arch and hitting. And also the amount of tyres i will go through

May sound strange to people but I like the way it handles on standard suspension Although the last time i drove it was with 350Bhp.
Tell ya the truth i just wanna see how it drives on the standard suspension, And once run in a bit get the 6 speed in
And at the min im not entirely convinced about the 18`s even though I have 2 sat in my room. The point about te wheel rubbing on the strut concerns me as my 2 mates who will be in the back are a bit on the large side
