SDW, there were some good posts in the other thread. I think the consensus was to tell this guy outright that he's ruining your chances of getting in clubs. Offer to help him shop for some new clothes and accompany him to the barbers for a shave and a haircut.

If he still doesn't want to play ball then make it perfectly clear that he doesn't "fit in" with you or your mates lifestyles.... so **** off you minger

As far as situation with the elephant mans ugly brother I think im going to have a sit down with him and explain the situation.

Il try not too be mean but he needs telling and if changes aren’t made hell be on his own. Allot off the suggestions were valid points but also stuff that we have already tried, such as the make over idea (he’s a tight git and wont spend any money on clothes even though he’s minted).

I agree that the thread got out of hand, but to lock the thread then start one of your own slandering peoples viewpoint and ganging up on certain individuals, which was the reason you locked the original thread doesn't seem right.


Most people use this site as entertainment, now people are worried what can be posted, so as not to upset the moderators.

 

Lightning, perhaps you should read up on what slander actually is and then come back and post about it.

I think you will find that most people are not particularly amused when their thread gets hijacked and "out of hand" because of the actions of those who seem to make it their mission in life (or on here at least) to find fault with the spelling/grammer/punctuation of others on what is, at the end of the day, a very informal medium.

Paul and Redkop are in complete agreement - presumably you are just as unhappy with their stance?

Of course, if you are complaining because of your numerous links to images, etc, that directly contravene the BBS' guidelines and as such require a disporoportionate of moderator time, not to mention registering a username with the sole intent of creating trouble on the BBS, then please take that up in policy or with the webmasters directly.

Dictionary definition: defamatory statement expressed in a transitory medium such as verbal speech.

What I meant was you are injuring the long term posters reputation on the board, because you personally don't like the general consensus of opinion.

And normally I would overlook some errors, as we are all human after all, but the original post was barely in english.

And to say that two other mods agree after me arguing that you were ganging up kind of sums it up.


I'm here to have a laugh - and I have as many informative posts as I do pisstakes.

Lightning - I think the word you are looking for is libel, not slander (or in Scotland -is that not where you are from? - its defamation)

I suspect the long term reputation of those concerned is more damaged by the nature of their posts than anything I could type on here

And in any event, where do you get "general consensus of opinion" from? I don't see any posts supporting the pedantic behaviour.

I also don't dislike any mods, and sometimes they are the ones who I have the best banter with, seeing as they have been on the board for so long they have some good viewpoints.

My original posting was an observation of the overall quality of a university students posting. Take the time to look at it.

I find it quite strange how you are free to post with the intention of causing "bickering" as ajm I think, put it. Actually, no I don't, you are a mod.
