The Xmas number one of late has become a bit of a let down since X-factor almost 'buys' the number one slot with weeks of hype and it is pretty much a surity that the winner will get no1 in the charts, although it is a mainly because mr cowell is such a shrewd business man IMO.

 

Well actullay it is more down to the fact that the singles chart is now pretty much meaningless with only a fraction of the sales required now as opposed to 20 years ago to get a good chart placing. Something like X Factor is bound to grab the numebr 1 as overall singles sales are falling year on year and are already at a point where they don't really matter as an indictaor to what is really popular.
