Did anyone have those things called Kerknockers (sp?) which consisted of two hard plastic ***** with a loop of string though them, you held the middle bit and waved them up and down energetically (ooer) and the ***** met at the top and bottom of their travel with a load clacking noise.

To do it at all required a lot of enthusiasm, usually resulting in a bystander coming into confliction with the nearly supersonic moving ***** at some point, so they were banned in schools pretty much straight away.

Weren't they called "clackers"? were they banned because of kids breaking wrists? Thats what my sisters told me they had some.

Remember those triangular paper/card things they used to give away in comics etc. You would swing the triangle downward and the inside bit of paper would catch the air and pop out making a bang!
Cheers, I just made one!

Marky, we deliberated this not so long ago in the office.

We put it down to the fact that dogs used to eat a lot more bones back then.

I have to admit that i haven't got a fookin clue how they all managed to be lined up in the gutter though

The white poo I remember was actually fungus growing on it. I think the reason you don't see it is because there is either less dog poo because people pick it up or it is disturbed by mowers, peoples shoes etc before the fungal hyphae can take hold!

im sure it was a liver or kidney defficeicy which caused the white poo, dogs diets have changed so no longer produce the white poo

Which IIRC mostly came from Poodles

I think most things have been mentioned now, cant think of any off the top of my head

White dog ****. What happens to it now? It used to slowly go white then dry up and blow away. Those were the days.
