Mike ... I really pushed my car at Brands and the tyre wear was very minimal. Although to start the track was wet it did dry out and I did more laps on dry than I did on wet. Brakes were a different matter though - fried a set of pads - which was costly. Although to be fair I had done 11,000 miles of hard road use on them before the track day.
Being a WR1 owner the thing you should worry about more is the petrol consumption whilst on track. I rinsed £100 quids worth on the day and still needed to fill up again on the way home.
Seeing as it will be your first time you'll prob take it relatively easy so all costs will be minimal

Sister who is a track virigin (ohhh errr) is wanting to take her Clio Cup... Without some help she will be a mobile chicane, she learns quick though and is not scared of the loud pedal.......
