Yup on the WRX 03 and 04 models the PPP give around the same power output as the standard STi.

Some of you are wrong (well sort of )

If you had an MY01/02 and had it PPP'd a few years ago you go from 215 BHP to 245 BHP. It was a piggyback style chip on the ECU.

If however you take it into your dealer now and have it PPP'd it uses the Ecutek style remap and it practically the same as a MY03/04/05 PPP which is 261 BHP.

This was confirmed by Mike Wood (of Prodrive) on here in another thread some time ago .. do a search.

If you're still under warranty IMHO the PPP is the way to go, sure some aftermarket stuff is a few hundred cheaper and maybe makes a few more BHP/lb/ft but for piece of mind I'd PPP it. If you're out of warranty however

If i were you i'd enjoy the car as is for now whilst saving up for the PPP. Oh and with the PPP your insurance is likely to go up a bit as well.

Chris
why does the dumpvalve invalidate your warrenty?

Your ecu is set up to work with a re-circulating dump valve.

By fitting a "Vent to Atmosphere" (VTA) dump valve you can get overfueling and miss-fires...
Subaru UK do not like that much......
