I am the same this is the Third week for me and **** all since the confirmation e-mail.

If the diary comes without a surround system to plug it into I will be writing to them on headed paper telling them that were thinking of using them as our stationary supplier, along with several more of our larger branches, but as they did not fulfil my order and took weeks to do so, they are getting no more business.

No surround sound just the cellotape. LoL! mugged again! I knew when I saw the size of the parcel the disappointment that awaited me. I mean I've heard of micro systems but no way could it be this small
Could have bought about 10 rolls of the market for this price LoL

This just gets better. They've sent me the cellotape again LMAO!
Good old Staples But there's more, Guess what....On the delivery note in bold type was the following message FREE GIFT TO FOLLOW
Rock & Roll baby, game back on Maybe they'll send 2

How do you add the free surround system gift to your order?

I think they tried to deliver mine today

I've got a Parceline note, but it doesnt really make sense. Says they will try and deliver again on Monday, and/or I have 5 days to contact them.

Fingers crossed, hope they send me some new office furniture by mistake

Staples really do take the ****.

Finally received my order today after nearly a month or so.

I was supposed to get a mouse mat and free gift, what they have sent me is a welcome pack which consists of a catalogue in a nice shiny folder, and they have sent me another catalogue which is torn to bits.

No mouse mat in sight

So I paid £5.10 for 2 catalogues Which arrived in a box big enough to sleep in

The delivery note says 2P-HOME not in stock, please re-order.

I'll be having words with them now, was about to order £400 worth of office furniture from them!!

Email sent

On the 13th October 2004 I ordered from you an economy mouse mat, and also entered the free gift code that I spotted in an advert for a surround sound system.

The order eventually arrived today after 4 weeks, in a nice large box big enough to park a car in (what about the environment!!). Great I thought, its taken a month but at least my order and free gift have arrived.

I have just opened said box (which was damaged) and inside there is a plastic folder with a nice neat copy of your catalogue, a delivery note and finally ANOTHER torn/twisted copy of your catalogue.

No mouse mat inside, and definately NO FREE GIFT.

I find this level of service appalling - not only has it taken 4 weeks for you to deliver my £5.10 mouse mat, but you forgot to actually put it in the box, so you have charged me £5.10 for 2 catalogues.

I run my own business which is moving premises in a month and after visiting your Burnley store last Saturday I was going to use my new Staples business account to purchase a new desk, office chair and 2 x Bisley filing cabinets, totalling over £400 but I will have to re-consider now and take my trade elsewhere.

Please could you fulfill my original order as I need my mouse mat as a matter of urgency, and of course would like the free gift that you advertised recently and which I applied for.

I look forward to your response.

On the other hand if someone bought a pack of pencils from you for ~£2 would you give them a free sound system. ? It did only save free gift, didnt say exactly what it was. I can see both sides of this tbh.

I only received the fountain pen I ordered last week - no surround system.

However, today I got an invoice which has the following line for a product, which I haven't got:

Description: New Account Welcome Pack
Catalogue code: 999WELCOME
Unit Price: £0.00

What the hell is this? does that mean I should still expect something?

I haven't had **** all.

I was one of the first to order, one diary at that.

It is now approaching 2005, at which point the diary will be classed as used.

But if they advertise a free surround sound system (which they did) as a free gift for anyone who make a first order then they should honour it.

It will only be a £15 ****ter, and they will lose money on a pencil order, but the whole point of these is as a loss leader - they lose money on the surround sound system, but then you place more orders and they make money.

The point is, the delivery note states a mouse mat which I havent received, i'm not arsed about the free surround thing, just want my mat

Sent them an e-mail two weeks ago asking to cancel the order and how we had decided not to transfer all of our office stationary orders through them, this being the trial run, but no reply, freebie or is that non existant freebie?, aside, they really are a **** company LOL

My mum tried to buy a printer off them from their website. No free gift involved

After 3 weeks of trying to find out where it was she gave up - nobody was answering calls, responding to e-mails etc.

I suspect they may be having some logisitical difficulties, but that's just a guess

As a matter of interest why are we allowed to name and shame a stationary company but not a Subaru dealer?

Because Staples cant even reply to an email, let alone read a BBS.

Besides, saying that someone is crap just as a matter of opinion, and saying that delivery has not been made after 4 weeks, so they are crap, are 2 different things.
